Sorry for perhaps a stupid question, but how do I determine the activation status of my Office 2010? microsoft/genuine website doesn't detect any Office 2010 software on the computer, is there anyway similar to checking activation status of Windows 7, by right clicking into Properties from Computer? Thanks! edit: nvm, I went to File, help and it says Product Activation Required after using the EZ activation tool. I'm using Professional Plus 2010.
I do apologize for my lack of experience but I'm struggling to activate Office 2010. Is there somewhere I should extract or place the tool kit and activator at? I tried looking for a similar Resources folder provided in the compressed file in Program Files, but without luck. I'm trying to activate Professional Plus, I ran the EZ Activator but it still says needs activation. It is gladly appreciated if I could receive instructions as to what I need to do correctly. Thanks guys, MDL is an awesome forum!
I'm thinking about a theoretical method to use Office 2010 no matter what version forever. You've probably heard about IR4 that resets Windows rearm count so you can keep in Grace period forever, right? Well, I know using my backup process, you can take a backup of your office when you first install it (You have 30 days + 5 rearms now). I have a backup like this. You can let time go by and change status of licensing. I have tested that I can purposely burn up those 5 rearms until office refuses to rearm again, then restore the backup and they are all back. The catch is, your initial 30 days does not refresh. If you did restore that initial backup 7 days later, you would have 23 days, so after 30 days restoring the backup would restore an expired state (but likely still have 5 rearms). In theory you could rearm to get 30 days and have 4 more ready. So, I am thinking about leveraging my enhanced backup process and making an app that will create a backup instantly, then running that app again will restore it. My process restore I am working takes a temporary backup before restore, and checks license info to see if it says "No Keys Installed" (As this means it failed). If it fails it tries to restore the Temp backup. If temp restores fine your PC is not changed. I could do this same check to see if Office is in notifications mode (which means initial 30 days expired). So I could run rearm if in notifications mode giving 30 days + 4 available rearms. I thought of this for Retail keys that I install just to test license add/convert that are blacklisted.
Thank you bro!! for your reasearch and finding new things about office.. BTW just a small request..is it possible for a release of the Toolkit 1.4.1.0 or 2.0 will be released directly skipping this version? also will it still remain open source even in 2.0 as it is currently now?
I do not see 1.4.1 being released as there were problems and its not worth fixing them and them doing 2.0. Also the reason the toolkit is opensource is because its a batch, though I don't mind discussing how things work. Also things may change due to being able to do things with .NET I can't do with batch so 1.4.1's sole existance is for me to make do and test office stuff as 2.0 moves along. 2.0 is going along quite well, we can install/remove AutoKMS, rearm, attempt activation, and Key Install/Remove/Check are almost done.
Hello, I've just successfully installed your EZ-Activator64 for Pro Plus 2010 VL. I just have a few questions to set my mind straight and also I'm kind of new at this so bear with me: 1) I used the Toolkit to delete the licensing data since at first it was not activating. Then I used the EZ-Activator to activate it. So now do I have new licensing data? 2) Will I be able to get updates? 3) I checked the status using the Toolkit and it says my grace period was 180 days. So am I correct in understanding that this tool does not "really" activate ms office forever, right? It just runs the KMS thing every time I turn on my computer (oh by the way, what actually happens at this point...it generates a new key everytime i boot?) and reactivates the product back to 180 days....? 4) Is it really necessary for the AutoKMS to run every time I boot up my laptop? If it says I have 180 days, why can't I just set so that it runs at a later time so it doesn't have to keep running every time the laptop turns on? Thank you, I'm sorry if these are dumb questions, but I'm trying to learn all this and it's been bothering me haha
Yes, now you have licesing data, otherwise you couldn't have the 180 grace period. You could check the last 5 digits of your current key using the toolkit's "5. Check Activation Status" Yes, you will. That's the way Volume Editions work. If you had a Volume License you would have to revalidate it every 180 days. No, it's not necesary, although it sometimes fails to reactivate Office, that's why it's set to run at every startup. But you could change it in the windows task scheduler, changing the task named "AutoKMS".

I've downloaded a Office 2010 retail version (pt_office_professional_plus_2010_x86_518476.exe). The conversion tool "Retail to VL" didn't work to me. Now my question: Where can I find a link to download VL version for Office 2010 (PT-BR), if it exist? Thanks!
