No, the infection didn't come from Keygen.exe. You can't be "almot 100% sure", you don't even know what it does.. It does not connect to the internet, it just listens to a port, that's why the firewall gives alerts. It has been flagged as malware because it's a non-official way of activating Office (or Windows). Instead of blaming something that has nothing to do with your problem (no one has reported something like that ), first be sure from where you get the installers, or videos, or anything. It has been a lot of work, you should be careful with your statements as they might discourage others to help
@BigCol First try to Reinstall that license using License Management Add and Try EZ-Activator again. Then try to rearm if EZ-Activator fails again. If that does not work try the License Management Delete All and let Office 2010 repair and try again. If this does not work reinstall Office 2010." Try the bolded instructions, also if you have AV on try to turn it off and then try those instuctions
That's how KMS works dude and if you install the task part of his tool it will activate automatically at restart I think
No it is not activated permanently kms activation only activates for 180 days this toolkit will reactivate for you so no need to worry.
Yeah that seems to almost guarantee failure. Its very hard to KMS activate in that state (sometimes impossible hence the reinstall).
Do I need to uninstall or just reinstall? here's the error when I try to re arm Microsoft Office rearm failed! Here is a more detailed description about the error: Error: 0xc004fe00 On a computer running Microsoft Windows non-core edition, run 'slui.exe 0x2a 0xc004fe00' to display the error text.
Uninstall. PS: That rearm error means Office considers itself tampered/corrupted. This immediately results in Notifications Mode, disables rearm, and makes KMS activation more difficult in some scenarios. Usually you need to reinstall in this case unless you have a MAK or Retail key you can use to activate online (as good activation unmarks it as tampered).
Ok, I uninstalled office, ran the fixit program, rebooted, reinstalled, but it went back to notification mode straight away
Ok, just tried to EZ activate again, and same error as before. Micros**t really screwed with my PC this time. I don'teven want to think about formatting...
Thanks, but I tried to use that tool, it installs, gets to the point where the wizard says click next to uninstall, then UAC promps me to give it access, I allow, and then a cmd prompt shows up on the screen for a split second and closes. No further activity occurs,a nd it doesn't uninstall office.
FYI we're dealing with this version: Microsoft.Office.2010.ProfessionalPlus.VL.Edition.x86.and.x64-ZWTiSO x86 specifically. Just did a complete uninstall, ran ccleaner rebooted, installed, didnt open any office apps: LICENSE NAME: Office 14, OfficeProPlus-KMS_Client edition LICENSE DESCRIPTION: Office 14, VOLUME_KMSCLIENT channel LICENSE STATUS: ---NOTIFICATIONS--- ERROR CODE: 0xC004F056 ERROR DESCRIPTION: The Software Licensing Service reported that the computer could not be activated using the Key Management Service (KMS). Last 5 characters of installed product key: H3GVB
For some reason the microsoft fixit tool finally worked, and ez activator worked right away after a fresh install. Thank you all for the help.
