Why is nobody talking about the virus included in this file ? it also try to open the firewall for external trafic ! Begin scan in 'C:\Windows\AutoKMS.exe' C:\Windows\AutoKMS.exe [DETECTION] Is the TR/Meredrop.A.13700 Trojan Beginning disinfection: C:\Windows\AutoKMS.exe [DETECTION] Is the TR/Meredrop.A.13700 Trojan Obviously it will be reported by most users as "of course it's not a virus", but how the hell would you know ... The fact that it's trying to open the firewall for external access is for sure very scary !!!
If you read the post more it would be clear it's the keygen in toolkit is generating a FALSE POSITIVE for most AV's. This is how the AV's companies make it hard for us developers and users of these tools that activate via KMS
Hey Sherlock Holmes, CODYQX4 and I wrote the code of AutoKMS.exe and it's NOT a virus, it's not even close of being a trojan. The Keygen.exe (which is a different file) opens a port because it's a KMS Server emulator, yes, Office needs to conect to a port of the KMS Server to activate. Hope it's clear
It's clear yes, it seems logical. But on the other hand, I can't be sure. It would be clever for a virus writer to include it in a tool like that and explaining it just the way you do. That's just a clever way to get a 80.000 ip botnet. (And i realy doubt that you have to open the firewall for external access when you just need to have a port open on a loopback address)
No one at MDL has malicious intentions if you can't believe that move on to somewhere you trust the developers. Otherwise all the best developments come outta MDL. Daz loader, IR4, Phazor, etc...
@ totobel I respect your opinion but if you do not trust us and the explanation that was given, just do not use the application. I guess there's nothing more to be said on that subject.
Someone PLEASE help me. I get the following error: EZ-Activator Failed! Here is a more detailed description about the error: Access to the path 'C:\Windows\Keygen.exe' is denied. I cannot figure out what in hell is going on but it is driving me crazy!
Check if it activated, sometimes it is unable to delete keygen as the time between killing it and deleting is may not be enough.
Cody, thanks for the tool. I have been following this thread in the background. Having read the entire thread up to this point, I am still unsure if my understanding is correct: that your tool (and no other tool yet for the matter) cannot back up the registration of 2010 Pro plus VL (on MAK key) and restore it on the same machine? Thanks!
It seems to work as long as you haven't reformatted your OS. Me and timesurfer tested uninstall then reinstall of office and it works. We are not sure why reinstall OS fails. All the data backuped that matters is encrypted, so maybe it reads something unique to a OS install when making the encrypted data.
OK. --Changes -Contains a Office Uninstaller (This right now is broken) -Stores Settings in an INI file with a Settings button that opens a configuration app for these settings. -License Delete now Automatically repairs office. (Has Setting) -Contains a tool called "AutoRearm" (See the bypass activation topic for more info) -AutoKMS uses Run key instead of Scheduled task. -Contains a Rearm Count check -Attempt and Check activation, and Install Key now done via WMI (works better with multiple office licenses and does not require ospp.vbs) -Delete Key behaves same if you use a custom key, otherwise, it uninstalls by skus and not a key. (The effect of this is in BETA 3 hitting uninstall for volume Proplus with no custom key removed KMS key. Now it would remove any possible Volume key, MAK or KMS.) -EZ-Activator can rearm, reinstall, and/or delete licenses on failure. This does all mentioned fixes mentioned in BETA 3 on failure. This usually results in success, The License repair has helped me even if I had to try it twice. --Planned Fixes -We plan to add fonts if on XP that toolkit uses that are not in XP by default. If one runs toolkit without Office on XP UI looks bad (The font is there if office is installed). This is purely a cosmetic issue. -We want to fix the "Access Denied" error. This can occur when we kill a proces or stop using a file but OS does not free it in time for us to delete it. We want a more guaranteed way than saying wait 2 seconds. The Key Checker used to 95% of the time get the error. In some cases things are OK after this error as it simply failed to clean up files. -XP for some reason is creating a tempwmicbatchfile.bat. This is annoying and we want to fix it. --Currently Unlikely Fixes -Restore Backup After Reformat (The data is encrypted so I can't tell what is changing that is breaking it. I assume it uses some unique thing to each OS install, maybe like how some apps use SIDs to license (remember old WindowsBlinds crack?).
Thank you, Cody for the affirmation. I am indeed hoping for a re-install after a reformat... I guess until whichever that unique thing-y is identified a 'full' back-restore tool is still impossible. Again, I appreciate all your hard work Cheers!
Hi Cody, why that? I think scheduled task is better since it's less intrusive a lot of users are used to clean their windows startup using "msconfig" command and maybe they could delete autokms entry by mistake. I suggest to go back to scheduled task or add an option about that in the settings.
The command to make a scheduled task, find out if it exists, and delete are different on XP. It sucks as I have to check the OS and the XP install process would be slow as there is no force create or delete. It's more toruble than its worth and based on how the task for AutoKMS worked, the Run key is the same. If anyone wants the task they could make one, but for now I'm leaving it as Run key unless someone has a way to make and delete tasks that works on all OS instead of being different for XP.
Right before uninstalling Office for third time I even tried mini-KMS_Activator_v1.055 (for the first time ever) and got this error: Error 0xC004F074. There is no running local KMS server found on your computer. Any correlation between above and "Activation almost certainly failed due to the Invalid KMS Data Error" ? There's no Office now, where/how should i start? many thanks... Edit: you want me to give Beta-4 a try...
