Hi Cody, MS is offering an Office update - KB 2413186 - under important updates. Says it's a validation update. Chosen not to install it today. Should I, or should I hide it for good?
Thanks mate, for your super quick reply. That's exactly what I did, till you test it, and give the all clear

The issue is: Office Word>File tab>Help - indicates (translation from Hebrew):" product was activated " but when pressing the " more information about version and copyright" link it opens a window titled " About Microsoft Word " and the first line in this window indicates:" Trial version of MSO ". Thanks
Thanks man, so I'm gonna download and install that. Something goes wrong and you're gonna get it from me You're a legend mate. Cheers
As of now, all current updates to Office 2010 are safe. They still don't even have an OGA for Office 2010 to even validate with.
Here is the screenshot link. I translated the 2 indications from Hebrew language to English: filedropper.com /wordactivationstatusscreenshot Please add ***p://***. first and the second line ( /word... ) last...
Don't know why it says Trial MSO but there are no nags and it says it's activated so unless at some point you start getting nags/lose activation I'd just ignore it.
OK. Thank you very much. I will use future version updates of the Toolkit, maybe this will solve the issue... Keep up with this great project!
They'd have to whitelist all the KMS codes and it's unlike they could enforce that in current products as they'd have to redo activation and break unupdated activation. They can't just do that as the point of KMS is that it does not need to talk to MS activation (they could use the whilelist for OGA but Validation and activation are two very different things and we don't need to validate (and we can't yet either)). There really isn't too much they can do. The KMS Emulator has been around since Vista and they haven't touched it and they can't break it with an update. Actually it would be much easier to break IORRT than KMS. If they had the registry locked down like WPA Key we could not do backups at all. Also the only reason IR4 works is because when you delete the WPA key Windows SPP is nice enough to wipe the slate clean whereas OSPPSVC locks you out. Combine the lockout and no forgiveness and rearm concepts are dead (again this is something they can't do with a simple update). It's likely they will kill the rearming tricks before KMS and I hope Windows 8 keeps SLP or we are gonna have to start relying on patches or KMS only (and I've yet to see a patch for SPP/OSPPSVC so I don't know how complicated it is).
