Hi Cody. Just an update on Symantec Corp. Today AV update, deletes autokms.exe, autokms.ini, autokms.log, removes the start up and 24hrs task scheduler and kills the autorearm, but oddly enough it leaves kmsemulator.exe. The unfortunate side effect is that until I delete kmsemulator.exe, I kept getting random crashes. Strange that V2.01 has no problem installing and nothing is flagged when I add the necessary files to exclusions, but upon restart those exclusions are overridden and the files are deleted/quarentined anyway. Boy oh boy, the guys at Symantec really don't like ez-activator but on a positive note you can still activate, but unfortunately will have to manually do it every 179 days. I've tried a lot of work arounds and settings but nothing seems to prevent the files being deleted. My only suggestion is that you maybe list the AV's that leave ez-activator in the readme of your next release. All the best! You're doing an excellent job on this despite all the AV fp's.
XP and Days left Hi Installed Office 2010 Pro Plus in XP SP3 a few days ago but have noticed that the days going down, I thought it did a reset on every boot..? AV program (Avast) does not flag any thing wrong, I tried running EZ-Activator again now every thing is screwed up, how do I fix this.? Thanks
I believe the toolkit creates scheduled tasks to run at boot, and every 180 days. If the tasks were not created during the install, that might be your problem. Unfortunately, if "everything is screwed up" now, you may need to wait for a response from CODYQX4 on what to try at this point.
Hi, Big Ben, did you activate initially with 'EZ Activator'? What do you mean by "every thing is screwed up"? Try this if you may - open C:\Windows\ and scroll down to "Autokms.exe" Double click on it to run the task, and then go and check your Office toolkit>Activation Tools>Check. I believe you'll see that you're back to 180 days. If Autokms.exe is not present in the Windows folder, then Avast indeed has deleted that by misinterpreting it as a trojan or something. In that case, you'll have to recreate that task through the "task scheduler" and excluding autokms and kmsemulator from the AV. That's from my understanding. If that doesn't help, wait for Cody, Bosh or Timesurfer or somebody to help you out.
Ok we know how to get out of "bricked" office but how do we actually get in notifications (BAD one) in the first place besides using up all rearms? I mean 2010 gets so messed up it sometimes takes two toolkit repairs to heal office Thank you
I want to deploy Office 2010 PP with this tool. Is there a way to deploy this tool so it will automatically use the EZ-Activator after succesfull office installation? What arguments can I use to use this method of installation?
Yeah. So free noncritical updates and other downloads such as addons, samples, templates etc. Life's good. Actually, my digital life's good. (Sorry for the bad pun) Between Daz and Cody and Timesurfer and the rest of the guys - I'm thinking can we ever thank 'em enough? I guess not
When i press the EZ activation button i get the error message: EZ-Activator Failed! Here is a more detailed description about the error: Failed to set KMS Host What am i doing wrong?
@CODYQX4: you should make a bug report form and add it to the First post. Something like: That way you can help people more easily.
Autorearm utulizes the office rearm system to stay in trial forever. It uses a task that runs an .exe that always keeps office in trial AutoKMS uses an "emulator" to tell office to activate. AutoKMS uses a task to activate every so often as does booting activate office Basically one keeps you in trial and one keeps you activated.
The download link for the activator does not seem to be working. When clicked, I am referred to a page titled: "Network Access Message: Access Restricted".
