On clean install of Win7 64-bit SP1 (wzt iso), Office 2010 Small Business (that I've activated successfully before) won't activate using the toolkit. Office is updated with the latest updates (5130.5000), after which I apply the toolkit. I used to only have to do EZActivate and that's it. When I do that now, it starts HDD activity for a while and stays at "Backing Up License Info In Case Of Failure.", never getting past that. When I try the different options manually, it won't work either. Is this due to the SP1 integrated iso or latest Office updates? That is all that changed since last activation.

I haven't testes it with SP1 rtm so I'm not really sure about this, but there could be something blocking the KMSEmulator.exe. Check for that as it requires network access.

Under those conditions it works for me. Likely it is an issue with timing or OSPPSVC not shutting down or restarting. At the point he is at KMSEmulator has been started.

In rare cases this may happen and it work later.

Hah... I think I know what happened... I had Server service stopped... I'm guessing that doesn't work too well :) Worked fine after enabling it again. Sorry for the inconvenience. But at least this is out there now for the indiscriminate services tweakers such as myself ;) Thank you.

Hmm I just tried everything but it just doenst seem to work on my netbook.
Got windows 7 ultimate installed / and office 2010 prof plus.

Of course i turn off my AVG, it installes the KMS correctly. When i start the EZ-Activator it runs several attempts and then in the end it fails and ends: "if all else fails, try reinstalling office" :p
The only thing what I dont have is netframework 3.5, i got 4 on my netbook. Somehow i cant get 3.5 on it...! Is this necessary?

    Thanks in advance, cheers.

Cody is the most apropiate to answer this kind of questions (weird errors), but first if you didn't have the 3.5 framework the program wouldn't start.

Getting back to the error, try this:

    - Delete you license using the "Delete" from the license tab.
    - Add a pro plus volume license (in the same license tab)
    - Open any office app to let it repair
    - Use EZ-Activator.

Let us know how it went

    Hi again,
what's "Permanently Activate Starter" in office 2010 toolkit's settings ?
is it necessary to be checked ?

    another quick question,
i want to save my customized settings, but apparently the settings are saved in a different file called settings.ini
so i have to carry it everywhere the main program goes. but sometimes it happens that it doesn't pay attention to the settings beside it and just loads the default settings and sometimes replaces my settings.ini ! so what should i do ?
does the settings.ini have to be somewhere specific like on desktop to be effective?
or if i set the settings.ini to "read only" would it work correctly ?

Don't make it read only as I delete it and remake it when you change settings and the file must be in the same folder as toolkit exe itself.

In case you use subscription of starter (which I don't even think a key for it exists since starter by default uses a key that disables activation), it uses a preactivated starter key.

    Command prompt closes

Hello all, this my fist post here even though I've use many of your suggestions successfully. However this time I'm stuck.
I have two computers that react very differently to the toolkit. I'll concentrate on the W7 32b machine for now (you guessed the other is W7 64b). I have downloaded from your sticky links Office 2010 Pro Plus (english) and installed it, so far so good. But when I try to run your toolkit or EZ-Activator, I see the command screen open and the close immediately:confused:. Of course I have de-activated BitDefender which doesn't like your programs at all (on my other machine which also has Bit Defender your program runs fine - it just can't make the mods - will have to install another version of Office). I have also run it as administrator to no avail. I have tried to browse through the posts to see if anybody else has had the problem but I must admit there are now many pages. Any help from your side would be appreciated.
