Office 2010 Trail wont install due to previous instance.

    Is there a way to get past the Office 2010 trail setup failure that happens if it detects a previous instance? I had it installed for a very short while but then removed it to try Office 2013. Now I need to go back to Office 2010.

    The exact error is...
    All the supposed fixes on the MS Answers forum dont work. I've removed the entire Office keys from current user and local machine and still no go.

    Use the Fixit tool from Microsoft to completely nuke all traces of the previous Office instance:

    Thanks but it didn't work. Even after running that it left tons of stuff behind. After that finished, I cleaned out the Software Protection crap and other things and still no go. Guess I need to wipe and reload unless anyone else has some ideas.
