If I buy a Home and Student Office 2010 for 3 PCs now, supposedly I will be able to get an upgrade to Office 2013 Home and Student on 1 PC for free.

The question I have is what will happen to the other two PCs? Will they become deactivated? Even if I am not supposed to run the other two PCs with Office 2010 anymore, would it still work or does Microsoft de-activate it??

Any solid info on this would be a help.

Yes, you will be able to upgrade to Office 2013 for 1 PC only. The other 2 PC's will stay with 2010 but they won't be deactivated as they were perpetual keys. You will receive updates for Office 2010 so long as Microsoft will continue to support Office 2010 which they will until 2015 or 2016 I think.
