Bonjour Process in post #39 successfuly tested using as last step the .reg in post #45 : with Seven and Windows 10 Merci merci EDIT : One question Step 6 "Delete the following from Licenses16:" is important ?
It looks like Microsoft in their "wisdom" has now broken this, VL installations converted to retail will now become deactivated as of the October updates, and when you restart the apps you'll get a message saying that these are VL versions only. Redoing the licenses as per my previous post just results in a lengthy 'configuring' dialog followed by the same error. It looks like MS is locking down MSI installs to VL-only. It's utterly stupid IMHO, now despite having valid licenses if I want to keep my MSI versions I'll have to use a KMS emulator. How does it make sense to go after people with valid licenses anyway? *sigh*
Hello and sorry for digging out this old thread. I tried to convert Office 2016 VL to Retail using the information described here on Windows 10 Pro x64. The problem is that I get error message when using slmgr.vbs. Error: 0xC004F01F On a computer running Microsoft Windows non-core edition, run 'slui.exe 0x2a 0xC004F01F' to display the error text. Old licenses were uninstalled using cleanospp.exe but I cannot install new ones. Edit: Ok, I should have read the last posts. :-(
