I'm not entirely certain about the wording of the different elements in your Spanish version of W7, but it might be something like this: Botón de inicio -> Todos los programas -> Accesorios -> Herramientas del sistema -> Comando del sistema (right click; botón derecho). A contextual menu should appear. Select "Ejecutar como administrador".
I checked the Device Manager and it is still in IDE mode. Peter you are not going to believe this but I have access to a 2007 Desktop MacPro which I could NEVER get activated with any loader. I installed Hazar 7loader 1.5 and as I expected it was not activated. So I replaced the grldr in the bootcamp directory with zsmin's Mac Loader Beta 4 and it is now activated! Unbelievable. So it would appear that zsmin's new grldr not only shortens the boot time but it also activates Macs more reliably.
Ah! That's what I thought! I haven't checked myself on my Mac Pro yet (I need a new hard drive which should arrive on Wednesday), but I knew that ALL grub loaders failed to activate certain top-of-the-line machines (Mac Pros, Dell towers, etc.). Apparently, that was due to the way the original grub was implemented. It didn't take into account the peculiarities of the AHCI architecture. Depending on the order assigned to the various bays at startup, chances were that Windows would detect the computer as a different one relative to the one that had been activated. Having bays 1 and 2 recognised in that order, and activating Windows in that arrangementis VERY different from booting up from a computer where the order of bays is 2 - 1. A "different" computer; therefore, an activation no longer valid. Apparently, not only has zsmin's loader managed to bypass HFS recognition, but it also successfully handles these machines' architecture, so that they will look the same to Windows boot after boot. If so, not only is this grub great news for all Mac Pro users. It may well solve the problem of all top-of-the-line machines for Dell and Compaq users! If this hunch is confirmed, the new grldr should be used as the default for ALL Windows machines, not just Macs.
zswin, thank you so much. Your patch solved the boot delay problem on my first gen Macbook Pro (mbp 1.1), and the windows 7 remained activated. However, after replacing the grldr, i found my macbook pro cannot wake up from sleep or hibernate. Instead, it will automatically restart or halt with blackscreen until I press the power button to shut it down. Then I switched back the original grldr, the sleep/wake functions normal. anyone has the same experience, or it just happened to me only ? (I used the chinese act*vator by pskys to activate the win7, the grldr file size is 168 kb. I attached this file here)
I have a MBP with the new loader and sleep seems to be working fine. I've only tried it twice though.
That is only for YOUR setup. If people were to follow your advice for other bootloaders, they would end up with a non-booting Windows! It appears that some hackers have been unconsiderate enough to rename their particular flavour of grubloader and alter the MBR as necessary for their whim. An unmodified MBR calls bootmgr; a grub-modified MBR should call grldr, which, in turn, will call bootmgr when it finishes. Other names are uncalled for and can only bring confusion in their wake.
I want to thanks a lot for the loader and the newloader beta4. I followed all the steps, and now it works perfect!!!!! Thx Thx Thx, gracias gracias
driftinwind, Your symptom seems like coincidence to me. It has nothing to do with the new loader. Sometimes I've noticed if for instance the laptop doesn't have enough juice (batteries low) it won't come out of sleep. So make sure your power adapter is connected since that has always worked with getting my MacBook Pro to come out of sleep mode when it's been temperamental.
You should just need to click "Request download ticket" at the top left and then "download" when the page refreshes. No sign up needed. Is that not working?
zsmin can do and has undoubtedly done a lot of things, but, what on earth keeps you from using his beta bootloader, as it is now, in a regular PC? It seems to me that if it runs on an Intel Mac, it will run on a PC. It seems that zsmin's loader can successfully activate even Mac Pros, so chances are it'll also activate Dell towers and other top-of-the-line PCs.
zsmin the sleep issues that also happen on regular desktop pc's. mabye there are also other things you can improve.
