Hi I can also report that the bootime delay is now massively reduced with the latest loader. It is now something like 5 seconds on an early 2008 Macbook pro 3.1 as opposed to 45 seconds previously. Great work you guys! You rock! The only small annoyance I have left - and it is small, is that I now have a folder on my Crive called BOOT. I would prefer if this could be hidden, but for some reason I can't change the attributes on this folder to ensure that it is. Like I said, only a small issue, but for the sake of neatness I wish I could hide it.
Difference in Loader Performance in MacBooks I used Hazar's first activator and every single activator he has made since with Orbit30 to successfully activate Windows 7 Ultimate on my Mid-2009 MacBook, albeit with the same 45 second boot delay as everyone else. I just recently tried Daz's Windows 7 Loader, but could not get either his old, default or experimental loaders to work. Upon booting up, my desktop display turned black I kept getting a message that my copy of Windows 7 was not legitimate. I have since used Hazar's 7loader 1.5 and replaced grldr with zsmin's Beta 6 grldr and everything is working fine with a quick boot time. I'm trying to find out however why Daz's loader is not working. Has anyone got it working or has any ideas? Thanks
Can't say I have heard of anyone having that issue, if anything the tool has had an overall better success rate then most of the others. Strange too because zsmin has tested it himself without fault It could be that for some reason the loader isn't picking up the win7.ld file which it creates as a pointer to fix issues with some setup types. I mean if the GRLDR is getting placed in exactly the same place as the other loaders are putting it then there should be no difference other than the drive pointer mine uses. You can perform a test by removing all other loaders, running and installing my loader and rebooting. Load up the tool and if the bios label is "APPLE" then the loader is not linking up correct.
Daz here is a suggestion. If a mac is detected the experimental option chainloads bootmgr, not win7.ld Good idea?
I can make it generate it without a win7.ld but I really can't see how that could be the issue when its working for other peoples Mac's, it's got me puzzled thats for sure.
I'm not so sure it'd be the partition because if it can't find the correct partition (which should never happen) it will display a message that an error has been logged to the systems event log. Same goes for read/write errors etc, I have everything handled. For it to work on other Mac's but not this one I'm not sure whats up, unless they are pressing the bios mod install rather than the soft mod install (its happened to some before lol). Or they have a really strange setup...
grldr hello, I used loader Hazar 1.5 Loader it's work very good (windows 7 is actived) ! But my macbook boot 40-second delay everytime (very slow) I search the new file grldr and newloader_beta4 (for to replce old file grldr). My english is very bad excuse me ! Please help me !!! Thanks
it works...thx guys...now boot fast....one question though...the gldr file type is file...how to change to file type=system file...
What grldr is included in Daz's Windows 7 Loader v1.5.5? Latest beta 6 or an alder one? Oh, works like a charm on my MB 3,1... thank you!
I've heared that only version 1.3 activated german versions of Windows 7? Can somebody confirm that? Or is the latest version (I think 1.5) also able to activate a german version? It would just be great if the Mac-package also contains the right activator...
Apologies if this is a stupid question but... Can anyone give me a quick summary of what files I need and what I need to do to make this work? I've tried backreading but I can't seem to find the instructions. Thanks!
