I have tried several times to run Windows 7 with different loader on bootcomp (IMAC '24 3.06 GHz). Without success. For some it works, not for others. to be sure: Is it true that there still is not 100% is possible cracked windows 7 to run with boot camp?
I would like to say that I have a mid-2010 iMac with a 2TB hard drive and I can confirm that the loader doesn't work; that whole SLIC thing. However I do happen to have an SSD 128GB in my iMac and after reading this thread and it's suggestion that the 2TB is too big for the loader to work, tried installing windows 7 and the loader on my SSD partition with boot camp. And I'm glad to confirm that it did indeed work flawlessly. So it appears that must be the issue. 2TB is too big (even if your partition is small for windows) but 128GB is just fine. I wonder where that line is? When does big become too big for the loader?
After 1.5TB the Mac partitions cause the Windows partition placed towards the end of the HDD to become unknown. If you could move the Windows boot files to a partition closer to the start of the HDD then it should work. I'm just not sure how this is done on a Mac You're welcome to try the beta version once I've finished with the last few changes if you want as it does include changes which may fix this problem.
Just got an i5 MacBook Pro. I installed and updated Windows 7 with bootcamp. Downloaded the latest Daz Loader and all worked first time with no hassle whatsoever! I didn't change a thing in the loader, just hit install, and away she went! Thanks a mill guys!
The newest version of the loader may cure the problems reported earlier in this thread. I can't say for sure as I don't have the hardware to test but I've heard some positive things.
To Sultan and mfield: How big was your Mac hard drive (total), and how large was the Bootcamp partition? Thanks in advance.
Hi to everybody! I'm a newcomer here. I would like to share my successful experience. I have MacBook Air 13' Late 2010 top configuration - 2,13 GHz, 4 Gb RAM, 256 Gb SSD. I installed win 7 ultimate x64 via Bootcamp; space for win 7 = 50 Gb. To activate win 7 I've used Windows 7 Loader eXtreme Edition v3.503-NAPALUM. I've used Basic Mode -> Loader -> Activate. And fully unexpectedly it was successful! I can share additional info if it will be useful.
What about Enterprise with miniKMS service - as it is all within Windows should work a treat? I'm thinking of getting an iMac and would like to run Windows 7 as well. I assume Windows cannot access OS X partitions ?
I'm posting on behalf of a friend so any help you can provide would be most appreciated. Basically this is his mac. ht.tp://i53.tinypic.com/16gfzgj.png (and I apologize as I know nothing about macs) I believe it has an SSD drive. He has tried using Daz's loader and got an error similar to the one posted earlier in the thread. ( h.ttp://i54.tinypic.com/2lllv1l.jpg ) Any idea how we could fix this? Thanks in advance.
Old version of the loader hes using. Tell him to boot to boot to the Windows DVD and to go to "Repair your computer". From the menu select command prompt and use the command bootsect.exe /nt60 /SYS /force I recommend he tries version 1.9.6 but if you're able to give him the file then he could instead try a test version of 1.9.7 which has improved GPT support.
Same problem with 1.9.6. Where would one find the beta version? I did have a look, but can't seem to find it. (I apologize, it's probably somewhere obvious)
!!!help!!! DAZ, I am desperately in need of your help, please, if you can, take the time to address my problem; I am going to install Windows 7 from an original disc on a macbook pro (year 2010) using Parallels Desktop 6.0, how should i go about this installation if using your loader to activate windows? (And which loader version?) One Trillion thanks, Sincerely, Kevin Flynn
Always use the latest version of the loader. I'm not sure how you go about using the loader in Parallels as I don't own a Mac myself. I suppose you can just install it from Windows and then use the bootsect command to recover Windows if you get stuck
DAZ, Thank you very much for taking the time to reply to my last post, I found some online instructions, could you by any chance verify if they are accurate for the current loader, the one used in these instructions is 1.70, and, will your loader work for all Macbook Pros (2010)? Details: Get a blank dvd disk ( 3gb ) or more in size. Download Burn for Mac or any other .iso image burning software. Download The Unarchiver for Mac. Download windows 7 and place on desktop Extract, a new .iso image (Windows 7) will appear on the destop Open it and burn it to your dvd disk. Do not forget to mount it. If you will be using Desktop Parallel you will not need to burn to disk, you can use the iso (Windows 7) file by selecting new image file in Parallel desktop. Now install this (Windows 7 ) on your mac, via Parallels Desktop. Download windows 7 loader. Open it with the Unarchiver for Mac. Click on the first file after you extract it, (it would be a .exe file) After you install windows on you Mac install the Windows 7 loader " into" Windows 7. (drag and drop or via USB). Select your computer brand, click on actvate/load Restart computer and chek your activation status by right clicking on computer and selecting properties in the start menu. Scroll down to find your activation status. Windows is activated you are done. WARNING: WHEN INSTALLING :UNCHECK REGISTER ONLINE AND CLICK NEXT WHEN ASKED FOR THE PRODUCT KEY..... "VERY IMPORTANT" Thank you so much, and happy Saint Patricks Day, Sincerely, Kevin Flynn
DAZ, Sorry to bother you again, but I forgot to add a postscript to my second message; Is one still able to download updates from Windows via Automatic Updates once activated with your loader? Thanks Again, Sincerely, Kevin Flynn
Daz, !!!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!!!!!! I truly appreciate your help, and it means a lot. You have no idea how happy I am thanks to you, now I can use my Windows software and be confident in its success! Best Wishes, and many thanks, Sincerely, Kevin Flynn
