And to answer your question yes, with the loader installed you can install all MS updates automatically
DAZ, And do the instructions mean to literally restart your computer? Or just Windows? The Product Placement For Parallels Desktop is:"Run Windows on your mac without rebooting" Sincerely, Kevin Flynn P.S. Sorry to keep bugging you, this is the last thing I need to know
You can keep everything at the default settings and simply press install. To answer your second question you should only have to restart Windows (I think).
DAZ, Would restarting Windows and/or your computer have the same result? Is one different from the other? THANKS, Sincerely, Kevin Flynn P.S. AFTER YOU REPLY, IM GOING TO INSTALL WINDOWS, THANKS AGAIN, BYE!! I'll Tell you how it goes.
I set it up on a Mac with a 2TB hard drive and version 1.9.9 with the windows partition on the last 100 megs and it worked fine, so no need to rearrange the partitions for it to work. I also had ReFit set-up and told the activation software to not mess with my boot partition so perhaps that was part of what made it work.
windows 7 loader 2.0.4 by daz on a mac if i install the windows 7 loader by daz on my windows 7 partition on a imac, will it work, or will it mess up the mac partition. i am worried, as at the moment my computer says that windows is not genuine so i want to install the loader but don't want anything to go wrong.
It won't mess up your Mac partition but it can make recovery a little harder for Windows. Some systems don't have a problem and some freak out. The ones to freak out are normally iMac systems with large partitions.
windows 7 loader 2.0.4 by daz on a mac Thanks Daz, My system is an iMac 21 inch system with a 300 gb windows partition and a 600gb mac partition. What are the chances of the loader messing anything up and is it easily fixable if it does mess anything up?
I think it should be fine for you. If you're unable to boot Windows you'd need to boot from the DVD, select the repair options, go to command prompt and then use the command bootsect.exe /nt60 sys /force
Sorry to be so anxious, but would it remove any data if i had to enter that command or would the computer just be as it was before? Thanks
Does the loader work on the new Mac mini? It would be very nice if the first post of this thread includes a little updated table of the loader statuses for different macs.
Thankyou very much Daz, It all worked excellently and microsoft validated it. If i install the service pack 1 update, do i need to re-install the loader or will it just work?
I'm happy to report, that the latest version (2.0.5) works flawlessly on my shiny new Mac mini (i7, 2.7 GHz, AMD Radeon 6600M, 8 GB RAM, 750 GB HD, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit + SP 1). Thanks for the great work!
I didn't think HP EFI Bios modding was possible Edit: But then again I didn't specify my notebook was HP/Compaq so my bad
Planning on installing Windows 7 x64 on my iMac. I remember speaking about an issue with iMac hard drives being too large and the loader messes up. My iMac is a 1TB core i3 model, will the loader work?
