Well once my Embedded Standard 7 redux passes a couple more tests on my system I'm done playing with the 7/8.1/10 update dodging and telemetry gathering game once and for all. I doubt Microsoft intended that, but it's more helpful to me. At least I know what is installed and what it is doing then - and that they can't interfere.
It just sounded like you were saying that the only reason they collect data from insiders was for better programs and UI appearance.
The simple fact is, ALL Software Developers are making money with their product's, even if they're given it for free to the user! As a simple matter of facts, those Software Developers need to information of the users for to get their products working properly(?), while the users of those software may never know HOW the developer (will) retrieve that needed Data from the users computer! Microsoft by the way, isn't 'just' an OS Developer, it's a Developer of Business Software in a first line, and that's for to make money! Period! Microsoft is also involved in Hardware Business, started first with just a Mouse and expanded later on to a wider spectrum of Hardware, include Tablet Computers and Mobile Phones. And for sure, Microsoft is in heavy need of the information of it's customers how their Hard- and software works, as any other Developer of any other Software too!! Personally I would say, there a lot of other Software Developers who're much worse than Microsoft ever has been! Interestingly, since Microsoft has openly admitted that they're retrieving data from customers computers, the discussion heated up a lot! There's an German speech: Code: Was ich nicht weiss, macht mich nicht heiss! Simply means in English: Code: If I didn't know some fact's, it wouldn't bother me! The reality is, as some MDL member posted already: and known Devil is better than an unknown! Although the reality is: For to keep all of your Data to yourselves, DO NOT CONNECT TO THE INTERNET nor ANY LAN! Keep in mind, any Search Engine keep ALL information asked for and delivered from any single user and that's much more dangerous than the data received by (in this case) Microsoft! Have a nice Weekend!
Ms won't even release an email from Ireland to the USA, they are now changing their stance on just giving data to USA organisations. I think a lot of this is blown way out of proportion.
You're not seriously saying that a statement verbal or written from a company employee overrides the terms of service that you agree too are you ?. If so then,
Appreciate !! No Matter what not who says - If it was REALLY true then why M$ didn't put all that in the EULA itself clarifying/elaborating then and there instead giving statements over the Blog. Further they can release a new KB update/Build with new EULA declaring that all those who will install this update/build will be under new EULA including terms with clarification mentioned in the Blog and rendering there previous EULA void. NO M$ will not do that - they will stick to their EULA (Legal obligation) no matter what is said or declared on the net here and there.
