i really hope this thread doesn't ruin the Bizspark service -- I'm a legitimate startup owner and would really like to take advantage of this..

Don't worry, M$ won't get rid of the Bizspark service. The most they would do is tighten security on signups, but this wouldn't affect legitimate startup owners as long as they fill in all the right details :)

Yeah, I'm hoping they don't get any more strict than they already seem to be, considering they're giving random people logins -- but it's likely inevitable. No big deal, but as a startup we're not yet a an LLC or anything, so hopefully they don't get that strict.

What's the best way to get this 'legitimatley' ? I don't like the idea of registering a company that does not belong to me, then giving MS my address. Thats um, fraud.

Which (not that im an expert or anything) seems to be a bad idea to do when you then give them your details on where to find you ;). Does the company/startup need to be a registered trading company? Or can it be unregistered? I'm just thinking it might be worth trying with my own website if its related.

True though $100 at the end is nothing, its what $33 a year?

awesome -- applied friday, was accepted today, and now am in the system. I'm now a full-fleged MSDN BizSpark member until 8/7/2012, without paying a dime until the expiration, when I'll have to pay 100.00. Not too shabby for a plethora of product keys that'll never expire on me.
