Don't get me wrong I love that browser from the first day it was out. It's core is a java based engine, which helps cut through and workaround internet network routing problems quite well. Why it is so fast. But the only thing that has kept me from making it my primary browser(which is Firefox on my PC) is the fact that it has problems rendering certain pages. I've came accross that too often to trust it more but never had that problem with Firefox. I do however still recommend it, and use Opera Mobile or Mini(3 for older mobiles, current for it's nice looks) on my Nokia E71 and the other half's Nokia 6120 classic. The only mobile thing better is Skyfire (which renders any mobile flash video or Windows media pages-ie.youtube and the likes qutie efficiently),just that opera is better on the network usage(downloads only the amount to render the whole page just for the size of your mobile's screen and speed).

    i agree.. i don't understand why Opera does not support Plugins/Addons ..
I use Firefox for Greasmonkey .. which helps me rip videos off of sites..

as for people using Firefox due to the crowd syndrome:
    - of course there are exceptions..but from my experiences.. most have no clue about the differences.. i was just stating what i have noticed from here and other forums i have ventured..

As for Chrome.. i keep hearing about it .. i may have to try it for myself .. and see what the hype is all about ...

    + 1
i absolutely agree and state this all the time ..

i agree.. i used to have a blog and used to have problems rendering pages.. but with the new Opera.. they seem to have solved this issue ..

Yeah, I agree with that. Theres allot of people that use Firefox just because someone else they know uses it... People should however pick a browser that best suits their needs, much like how Firefox suits my needs due to the work I like to do online, I simply need them options/features.

Chrome is pretty good by the way, if you read up on how it works and it's security (which I think IE8 copied -- running each tab in its own sandbox). It's slowly getting allot of the Firefox features, heck it's even got some basic greasmonkey type support built into it as standard!

    it's integrated to opera man,
just right-click on a webpage where there's no content (some blank part of the webpage) then u'll see the option block content,
when u click on block content, then u see on the page all the ads that u can block. just click on the ad u want to block and press the done button on the right top of opera, et voilĂ , your ad is no more present on the page ;-)
this browser starts to be one of the best for windows, they worked a lot to make opera fast as chrome and it's done now, opera is as fast as chrome,
but chrome is not as good when u compare all the options of opera.
there are some minor bugs on some webpages with opera, i found some on facebook where u cant click on some buttons, hope it will be fixed soon by facebook or opera.

My post was long, not because I was giving an emotional rant, but because I had researched the incidents you cited and was providing facts about them.

I know you were trying to help, I have continually thanked you with sincerity and I will do so again. I was unaware of the latest release of Opera and I am grateful to you for bringing it to my attention, and to the attention of others who may find it useful. I am likewise grateful to you for your attempts to help me; individuals who are willing to help seem few and far between. You are an asset to this forum and I am glad I have the opportunity to read and consider your views.

As for the vulnerabilities. I have provided ample facts regarding them to demonstrate that classifying Firefox add-ons as a high risk of being malware is an overstatement. I would prefer that you do not consider this a personal attack. I merely wish to provide others with accurate information.

I do not believe I am picking and choosing lines and I am sorrowed to hear that you consider us to be in an argument. I have a great deal of respect for you and I agree wholeheartedly with the message you desire to spread with this thread, which is that Opera 10.51 is amazing.

If I thought you would not be receptive to my posts, I would not have written them. But now that I have, I will leave them in the hopes that they may prove insightful to others.

I think that any further contribution by myself to this thread would not prove beneficial. And so, I bid you adieu and wish you the best.

dude.. it's cool .. my only point is .. in the end.. we will all end up using the Browser we want ..
there's nothing anyone can say that will change our mind ..
we all have different uses and needs for our Browsers..

my original post was comparing the differences, the similarities, and what i noticed..

I already had this conversation with DAZ and others and really don't feel like going round in circles ..

    F.Y.I
blackranger & DAZ are correct .. Chrome is pretty sweet :)

I had tried both Opera and Chrome latest version. Yes they are amazing and sweet, but to me i find Mozilla Firefox more user friendly and tons of add on. Now latest version 3.6.3. Have been using Mozilla for years.
As for add on noscript and adblock plus is enough for me.

    Good to see this post:hug2:
I've been using Opera for years, both for PC and PPC, since it called itself the fastest browser:biggrin:lol
Indeed it's fast and greatly convenient.
What I love most is Wand, Speed Dial, Mouse Gesture and of course good-looking:p
I have never loved Firefox:mad:Ugly and lot of addons to make it work the way I want.
I tried Google Chrome also which copied speed dial there too
But I'll stick to OPERA anyway:hug2:
Btw, iamanoob, what skin is that?
