SuperAntiSpyware has saved me for lots of time trying to fix computers for people I know that has downloaded EVERY thing, and surfed on porn sites, warez sites etc. And open attachment from Mr. President of Uganda Some time I have to run the programs 3-4 times, with a reboot after each time, but in 90% of all the times I have used it, it has removed all Spyware/adware from the computer. Some of the worst spyware/adware stops the installation of SuperAntiSpyware, so I do always install the free version on every computer I setup for friends and family. I have almost 15 paid licenses for my own computers.
15 paid licenses??? SHEESH! *eek* Well as you mentioned above, SAS (SuperAntiSpyware) is a very good companion for any AntiVirus out there!
When you buy one, you get the rest for $9 each. And I have some computers (real and virtual) that I want to use the full version on (real time scanning etc). And I have the money to buy the licenses.
Well if you have the money then it is a very good choice you have made as SuperAntiSpyware is the leader IMHO of the pack when it comes to trojan / worms removal! It even detects my UltraSurf (anonymous surfing) program as a worm
Oh this is not an AntiVirus dude, they are 2 different things, you need a good antivirus + an antispyware application to clean out those worms or stuff that isn't really critical so isn't caught by the Antivirus program, but are harmless or contain tracking data, etc.... You should run a scan with SuperAntiSpyware after each 3 days after updating it, thats how I do it even though I have a very good Antivirus which is NOD32 FTW.
personally I think SAS is good but it crashes on scanning some old executables. i have reported these to SAS techs about month ago and it doesnot seem they do something about it tho a new version was released
Strange using this on XP, Vista and Win7 computers, and have never seen the program crashes. But as I said in the first post, I sometime has to scan 3-4 times before all is removed.
Yeah I've been using it for 2 years now it never crashed on me no matter what version I had used. Mind you, I always update to the latest version as soon as it's out!
I'll take Malwarebytes over SAS. I've cleaned out hundreds of PCs and had SAS miss quite a few more infections than MBAM. Though using them together is a pretty good idea.
i agree...though i appreciate the heads up, i did download it and try it out for a few days...i will stick with malwarebytes, i guess it has spoiled me
As far as I know Malwarebytes doesn't target all tracking cookies, SuperAntiSpyware does. Best solution? Run CCeaner before the scan to prevent false hits. Thread title has been changed to reflect a users personal opinion too.
