When you use RemoveWat 2.5 it will install KB971033 on your system. Only Hazar can tell why he did it like this. But perhaps he wanted to avoid that it gets installed after RemoveWat was used. So he disables it before this might happen. But be aware of this install.

Well, it's worrying you don't know considering you probably downloaded it, but type "ver" into the cmd prompt. If it says "7600.16385" then it's RTM

Hi thanks for this. I used it on my laptop and desktop after Orbit's 7 loader stopped working and Daz's loader wouldn't work. Anyway it's working on both.... except on my laptop I get a red bios screen in which I have to select the type of start up I want. Can someone tell me how to bypass this with the default selection?

    thanks

RemoveWAT does not depend on underlying hardware. All u need is an "unpatched" Windows 7 x86/x64

this recently happened to a friends laptop...after restoring wat run cmd as administrator and type sfc /scannow then restart open cmd again as administrator and do a rearm by typing slmgr -rearm and then remove wat with the latest version....the reason i had to rearm is because after being non genuine removewat works no watermark or activation section on properties but the system kept giving the nag messages of non genuine on control panel and notepad etc. hope this helps....

    Hello Hazar

I posted this question earlier and was wondering if you could help me out

I installed a cr***ed copy of Win 7 x64 Ultimate a couple of weeks ago and it wasn't a trial copy but derived from an OEM. At install time, a black command window appears and after a few minutes it says that product key has been generated and the process completes. No activation required.

When checking My Computer/Properties it say that Windows is activated and genuine. OEM is visible amongst the numbers too. I've also installed and am running MS Security Essentials with no problem.

Up to now my system has been set for automatic updates and has been working fine. Then I read about the KB971033 update for Windows to dial home every 90 days to prove authenticity and so I stopped the auto updates. So far I've avoided this KB971033.

As I'm not running aTrial version, but a copy derived from an OEM, should I still use and run RemoveWat?

Many thanks for the great work

    Dumfy

im also currently in the learning process of how all of this works but from what ive read here i would suggest if its not broken why fix it right? meaning if you are activated and everything is working fine you should not mess around with it...you could leave automatic updates on but if you are worried just hide the wat update and you will be fine.... at least for now until sp1 is released the update is optional and then if after some time u get non genuine status look for the most current available options of activation at that moment to reactivate.....hope this helps....

Thanks - it does help cos you're right! If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Pretty obvious really and my question was a bit dumb. Hazar probably figured it's not even worth a reply!

I know what I was thinking....Would using RemoveWat now save my OS being de-activated. What I've decided to do is leave as is for now. Set Automatic Updates to manual and prior to downloading I'll image my system. Then should anything go wrong after updating, I'll simply restore the image and then research and see which update caused the problem.

Seems like a agood way to go.

    Thanks for the help!

You do not need to use RemoveWAT unless that loader didn't work for you.
Since you're activated already you're done.
Just set your Windows Upate to Manual and Don't download KB971033.

    removed or not ()

Hazar thank you so much for generating the tool and maintaining the forum.

I use the Remove WAT with win 7 64bit and all seems fine....
to make sure all is good i got "MGADiag" from ms.

    under Windows tab:
    Validation Status: Genuine
    Validation Code: 0

    Cached Validation Code: N/A, hr = 0xc004f012
    Windows Product Key: *****-*****-GJY49-VJBQ7-HYRR2

but under Licensing i notice the next info:
    license status: Initial grace period
    Time remaining: 19days
    remaining windows rearm count:3

do i have a problems? is that mean w7 is not gonna work in 19 days?

    thx
