Ev1lM0nk3y i just pressed back up and now i have the product key and a cert file on my desktop. So, is that enough to proceed, what will i have to do with the cert file after the installation of windows 7??? EDIT: actually it's not a cert file, it's a .xrm-ms
Seems like i'm ok, so how do i proceed? I clicked on "Backup" and i got the certificate and the product key. Should i type the key during installation or do it later through cmd?
your good to go then 1) Install windows with that key 2) Once installed run CMD as admin and use this command to install the cert windows should now activate offline
Thanks a lot man for the help, i'll try this and post later the results. 10x for the link as well FattysGoneWild EDIT: 1 last question: I'm planning to create 2 partitions on my hard disk first, before formatting and i was thinking if this could affect the activation in some way?
to Machiavelli7: You have retail laptop Sony Vaio with preinstalled Windows Home Premium in Italian lang, right? If you want to keep this version system withaut hacking, you can keep it. Namely, just let get english version installation disk or iso, install and use the same activation key! It should work, (Im not sure in 100%) hence the key is for the same version Home Premium, regardless the language installation! In this way you will run the legal copy.
Thats what he is doing he is installing the OS in english and activating it with his cert and key that came with his laptop
rather that's matter, hence that Ultimate is upper version if he is doing that one, and his key for HomePremium may be not working. Anyway worth to check it, but he should do a backup first, I would.
if you have key and can use it then use it. i don't like messing with slic and all that because it could mess up the bios. as a suggested before u should just use removewat. but ev1lM0nk3y is a smart man so u should prob listen to him . but if you don't want to waste all that time removewat is the quickest and most effective way. genuine is genuine whether it be loader, bios, or removewat. as long as you get updates and everything works its all the same. good luck edit: and no partitioning ur hard drive will not affect the activation. but only partion for a good reason don't do it to dual boot vista or something dumb like that
he wont need to flash his bios as he has a laptop with slic 2.1 as the machine was shipped with windows 7 home premium installed
No im creating another partition (D) taking 400gb from C) where i'm planning to install windows 7 and C will remain with 100 gigs for windows, so if s**t happens my girl won't lose any data stored on (D) obviously.
