    Hi,

I agree totally, the current version # should be stated in post #1, I've found myself downloading again as someone has stated 2.2.5.2 etc. but find it's the same version I have when I check RemoveWAT About .

    Cheerz :) :D ;)

I don't know but I downloaded removeWAT from hazars 1st post and properties says it's 2.2.5.2. Got windows ISO from the repository
here . Used these 2 and installed eveything and it worked ok. I just did it , a little RTFM and asked timeserver 1 question and it's
working now. I know im'e a noob so wasting bandwidth can be avoided.

Don't use Windows Defender or MSE for that matter. It is probably sneaking in through that. If you are going to use a loader. I would stay away from MS products period. With the exception of windows update. I clicked that update and selected to hide it the first day it came out. This is on a legit WIN7 pc. Never seen it since and it has never installed. I tend to stay away from MS extra software any ways.

Remove WAT works decently well on Win 7 Ultimate v7600, but I keep getting the notification window every now and then that it says it's not genuine.. We would prefer a bios mod, but have understood that HP has been hard to Mod... Should I try restoring WAT and then removing again?? KB971033 has not been installed on this machine a Compaq 9610b, but We still get the popup dialog every now and then..

    @therain

If I remember correctly RemoveWAT installs the KB971033 too to make it unusable afterwards. But I am wondering about your updates. German, French, Chinese, Italian, Japanese and so on

    RemoveWAT 2.2x

I have my two desktops fully functional with RemoveWAT 2.2.5 I think.. Includes MSE installs on both.. Took a few attempts to get everything back to stock and then repatched etc after the 1 update from M$..

I have MSE on a preactivated PC and that updated stays hidden. No long-term usage experience though (have clean installed 4-5 times since Feb).

I put windows update to auto once, so it download and install everything. :p

RemoveWAT also install KB971033 but make it unusable? Hm... I'm not sure about that. Can someone clarify/confirm it? Well when KB971033 is installed, wat folder is created in windows> system32. Uninstall KB971033 makes the wat folder and it's contents disappear. I'm not very comfortable when seeing KB971033 is installed in my system.

I have currently disabled and stop downloading any updates. Will let you know again if there is any wat downloaded during these period.

Watermark cannot appear if RemoveWAT was able to replace user32.dll with the patched one.

Spent the whole afternoon reading all the threads and found this thread #1516. Think I could just forget about uninstalling KB971033 from now since it will keep on auto download to my system. I also run restore WAT the remove WATonce again after KB971033 has been auto installed (Wat folder and its content still in system32 though).

The way to prevent KB971033 from auto-installing is to go in to Windows update, right click on it, and say "hide update." Once it's hidden, it will not install, even when auto-updates are turned on. Also, MS has said that KB971033 is and always will be a totally optional update.
Yes, RemoveWAT does install KB971033 for you despite whether or not you've taken measures to avoid it from being updated by MS. Initially I wasn't too happy about this because I was going throught he trouble of avoiding the update altogether.
However, Hazar included it, presumably, because if KB971033 is installed AFTER RemoveWAT is run, it will cause your copy of windows to become invalid. By installing KB971033 before, RemoveWAT can safely disable it so you never have to worry about it again.
So it's a pre-emptive strike. You won't have to worry about KB971033 being installed or updated later on if Windows thinks it's already there, even though it has been removed by RemoveWAT.

I've had no issues with the way it works now (installs KB971033, then RemoveWAT does it's thing.) I'm running the official Windows 7 32 bit. ulitimate. I installed it, did all of the updates, then did RemoveWAT.
