It's impossible to hide this update. I saw it installed, clicked and only options i have is to view details or copy details, so i uninstalled it. Can't hide it cause it doesn't display in windows update when i click check for updates, cause it installs by it self.

MS might not be serving that update at the moment cause they were having non-genuine false-positives with genuine customers...lol

is there a way to check if RemoveWat is working for me?

I uninstalled kb971033 (however it's still in my update history, but it's gone in the Installed Updates section)
    Then I installed RemoveWAT

    should this be sufficient?

that is exactly what i want you to do !!! cause the validation fixes all activation files. then restart. then run removewat 2.2.5 which installs update kb971033 and then disables it. (removewat restarts compy auto so no need for you to do it again). thank you timesurfer for using ur brain. as for the rest of you ...... 0_o

I did exactly what you said. The validation process installs KB971033 and NOT RemoveWAT (or maybe both?). Right? After running RemoveWAT I found KB971033 still in the Installed Updates section. Is that right? So now I should be fine?

Hi everyone. I've just re-installed the 64bit version of 7 Enterprise. RemoveWAT 2.2.5.2 seemed to work fine since I can use Windows Update, but when I try to install Security Essentials the program crashes when trying to validate Windows. I tried to download the installer again of course. Not sure if RemoveWAT is the reason or if it's just Security Essentials acting crazy, but I thought I'd let you know.

just a quick question which im sure has already been answered but i havent seen on here, i ran removewat the other day the file just says removewat22.zip which i downloaded off the link on the first page of this thread so not sure if its the most uptodate version or not, but anyway everthing seemed to be fine, all the links to activate from the windows information screen and control panel are gone but the last couple of days, maby once a day i get the little icon in the system tray with the timer saying i need to activate in 25days. is this sort of normal and i should ignore it or is that likely to cause a problem?

Hazar's WAT easy for MS to detect and destroy ???

Yes Hazar, I agree that it works and works perfectly. For that I am very grateful.

    1) However, I am concerned about what system files it alters/deletes/damages. I recently received a Huge Cautionary about using this from someone who knows more than I do.
    2) I also hear that WAT and RWAT are the easiest for MS to find and kill.
    3) As a precautionary I have therefore set my Updates to Download but Not Install until I first view them, something I always did to avoid that lovely "Genuine Advantage" check but forgot to in this case.

    Kindly let me know.
