I used the newest version of RemoveWAT on my Windows 7 installation. Worked fine, rebooted my computer, and now I cannot get into Windows. It either stays at Starting Windows, or boots to a black screen with a cursor. Will not boot into safe mode either. Am I looking at having to reinstall W7 now? Help is appreciated. Thanks. Edit: Forgot to state this is Win7 x64 Ultimate
After that update windows was saying it wasn't genuine so i used RemoveWAT and it is back to normal However when i click system properties it says 'the page failed to load' how can i fix this? Thanks
How exactly do i do this? I searched for sfc /scannow then clicked 'Run as Administrator' then a black window opens with a bunch of text flowing then closes really fast maybe i should add that when I click RestoreWAT windows goes back to being not genuine but i can access 'system properties' Thanks
Thanks Hazaar, am running 7 Enterprise 64 and just used your lil program, it seems to have worked as countdown for activation has dissapeared. Want to check, I have updates off and didn't read whole thread as is long but in the last couple of pages someone said it installs WATupdates or something. Does this turn my updates to MS back on, or will it stay as it is?
After sfc /scannow it repaired some stuff and i rebooted and I can access system properties again...no genuine popups and i get my own wallpaper however in the bottom right corner it says not genuine..also in system properties it says i need to activate! this update is making me go crazy! thanks if anyone can help
I thought this was working, and then (about three months later) my screen went black, and now I'm getting the "Activate Windows Now (or else)" popups when I logon. I had used RemoveWAT when I installed Windows 7 this year, and accepted no updates from Microsoft, as some of them are trojans (they can't all be known, when they are MS can always release new ones), and I have much greater faith in my firewalls, virus and antimalware scanners, which are regularly updated. I would consider the possibility that something could have been slipped in with one of the programs which I installed, but RemoveWat still thinks that WAT has been removed already, so I can't even try to remove it again. I sure hope you can fix this! Thanks.
In•va•sive > Characterized by or involving invasion; offensive Invading, or tending to invade; intrusive. Incursive, invading, encroaching, trespassing. Tending to intrude or encroach, as upon privacy. Any crack or program written to pirate software shares the description INVASIVE. RemoveWat is NO MORE invasive then other tools found on this site or anywhere else for that matter. When used properly RemoveWat is the easiest tool to use and it does what it is suppose to do. I have used RemoveWat on two different computer systems and both worked properly after the installs and they continue work smoothly.
Sorry, I somehow thought I was starting a new thread - my brain's a little fried, but I didn't mean to hijack this!
