Whew, alright, good to hear..! Confirmation would be awesome. I thought that was a pretty dirty trick from MS!
I just tried to use your Windows 7 Activater followed step by step through the read me checked my status and it says I still need to activate. Do I need to run Removewat before it will change?
@AMoldyStump this is how I did after my win 7 installation: I omited an activation process by pressing the NEXT button in the last steps of os installation. then I installed all critical and necessary updates as usual in windows update window. afterwards I launched WATremover, pressed a button, waited a while for a self-restart and the os' WAT gone. that's all. before that I'd switched UAC off and launched WATremover tool as admin to be sure everything would go well. @Ryzaar yeah, that link doesn't work for me either, however, I got wat-remover in the time when it worked. you can still get one via torrents, don't worry about it. below are the hashes being produced by myself that you can compare to yours. file: RemoveWAT.exe MD-5: 588c9f669bfb9149c4f1d8e6729743ba SHA-1: 75e0288583dd3301386b12de8f8c27eebdbdfc7a CRC32: 6a45ba15
I've been reading through the comments and a lot mention that people just installed theyre windows 7 or still have a few days left on the counter ive had mine for a few months and the 30-day activation is past could that present a problem?
yea, that is correct. Kinda just like that AntiWAT program that computergeek put here that was locked by the admins lol
I just found this from a google search, and I just want to extend a thank you for such as simple easy to use tool, that has no viruses or other crap bundled with it. Been searching for something like this for a long time. I'm testing it now and so far so good. Oh and just for the record, I installed it when it was WAY overdue, I was getting various popups telling me I'm a huge criminal and stuff. It still worked, all that stuff is gone. Also been searching for a forum to hang out at and this place looks interesting, I will probably stick around.
hoooo...atleast i don need to worry abt ma activation :S:S ...thx buddy...tried all of those uploader...dint work out for me
It means, after a fresh installation of 7, if u use RemoveWAT, it firstly install the WAT update[KB971033], and then removes the WAT from the OS ~ while keeping its genuine status......... thats it
Thanks so much for your efforts with this! I just signed up to say thank you, ask a question and provide a solution for those of you searching for the patch. 1 - Scenario: I bought an MSDN key back in January and now Microsoft has flagged my system as non-genuine after installing that update. Can I just run RemoveWAT and everything should be kosher, even though I've currently been flagged as non-genuine? Or do I need to take some extra steps? I viewed numerous pages throughout this thread but didn't see this particular scenario mentioned, so I thought I would ask. Also, the goal here is to be able to reach activated status without having to reinstall the OS, but if that's what has to happen at this point, then I completely understand. 2 - If you don't want to look for a mirror on a service like Rapidshare or download via Torrent, a simple Google query will yield results with people keeping this file on their site! Put this in Google, hit "search" and voila! Code: intitle:index.of removewat22 -torrent -share Paste that line in Google just like you see it. Most of the results will be people's personal servers where they have that file stored. Thanks again and if someone can let me know about my question, I would be most grateful! -'Linguist
