    hi Hazar,
Uptil now, i was using RemoveWAT 2.2.5 to ensure that my windows 7 ultimate (6.1 build 7600) remains activated.
But today, without installing any new updates/software, my machine went to the black background with the popup 'this copy of windows is not genuine'.
and now it comes up everytime at startup.
when i run removewat 2.2.5, it still shows that wat has been removed and gives me the option to restore wat.
    what shud i do?
shud i restore and rerun removewat 2.2.5?
or has my copy of windows, without any new updates, found a way to bypass it?
    plz help.
    thanx, in advance.

EDIT: the only change i made is a hardware one wherein i removed my external pci-e nvidia 9400gt graphics card and set the auto detection mode in the bios to 'internal graphics'
my external card is spoilt so ive given it for repairs and currently on the internal onboard graphics.
    hope this helps.

Wow. I am so impressed with this bit of software. for now this is perfect. I have only one small niggle.... I still get the "not genuine" prompt when starting included app's such as notepad, write, calc, etc. Not a big problem at all but contrary to the original post. Im wondering if I have done something wrong. I am using build 7600, which had been updated almost fully before the previous crack I had used failed. Nothing Im too concerned about but if anyone knows an easy fix to get rid of the nags Id appreciate it. Thanks again all who had involvement in wrting this tool

I have ran this, and Daz's Windows Loader, and cannot get Windows to validate. Is there anything else I can try?

For once removeWAT as of now will not pass WAT validation. You must remove win7 loader, then remove removeWAT by clicking "Restore WAT," then download and run a tool on Daz thread called WAT clean fix or something, then reboot and reinstall the daz loader, then validate online.

    Duplicate windows?

Hello, I used Removewat v2.1 and then switched to 2.2 because while v2.1 worked it produced many duplicate windows with the Remove WAT grayed out and the Restore WAT hilighted. At one point I was typing and the box came up and I didn't see it and it Restored the WAT because I assume I hit the enter key and Remove WAT did it's thing so I went ahead and used Remove WAT 2.2 and Removed the WAT again and it works fine except the v2.1 window still pops up! How do I 'uninstall' it? o_O

It's only the v2.1 window that keeps popping up, it just creates dozens of the same window from time to time, after a bunch load and my computer calms down I can close them all no problem and then they don't come back until many hours later, what's up?

You are going to need to download RemoveWAT 2.1 then use the uninstaller on RemoveWAT 2.1 to remove it.

you maybe hosed, i had the same thing. i lived with it for awhile
in fact i asked about the same thing earlier in the thread
if you are curious you'll find it

    you can try System Restore
    or an in-place upgrade.
    then reinstall RemoveWAT again
    that should help you

Remove removeWAT using the uninstall method above and use a different activator.

Ok well that is good. I am guessing that RemoveWAT was having issues for you. I have read some reports of users with similar issues with RemoveWAT.

my situation is a little different.
for me, removewat 2.2.5 was working fine.
i didnt perform any updates and did a normal shutdown.
but i did make a hardware change by removing my external pci-e nvidia 9400gt card (its faulty) and began using the integrated graphics chipset on the motherboard.
i didnt install/uninstall any software while switching over to the integrated chipset
but when windows 7 ultimate (build 7600) reached the desktop, it gave the 'windows is not genuine' screen with a black background.
when i ran removewat again, it still shows that wat is installed and gives the 'Restore WAT' button enabled.
i think i have the win7 loader too, im not sure.
so can u, sam3971, plz tell me in my situation, what shud i do next:
    1) restore wat, reboot and run removewat 2.2.5 again
    2) restore wat, reboot, remove win7 loader and try the "Daz's Windows Loader" that i read many r having success in

if i shud try the 2) method, then plz gimme a link which i can follow step-by-step in performing that successfully.
    thanx, in advance.

    Hi Hazar
well done with the new method of bypassing, have already installed on notebook works like you said it would have just installed on base machine again no issues, I have a weird lag problem with IE, lagging when exe IE or selecting new tab but can not say its to do with your fix probably not.
I am using faXcool 64bit image and then using your fix works fine, but could I ask a question if I were to reset mbr after installing faXcool image that would intern revert windows back to 30 day in theory that is, I have read in here some where that the 30 day countdown still counts down is this true and what happens after that does it display 0 days permanently and visible there after.
and just one more thing if the need arises to reset the mbr or use sfc /scannow would they void your fix in any way.
A big thanks to you for your effort and excellent work and for the others complaining about MS finding this fix and adding it to the wga in the future, Dude if your that worried about put your hand in your pocket and shell out for a legit copy, Of course they will eventually find it bloody hell man its all over the net they can read just like you!
The point here is its thanks to good people like Hazar that spend countless hours/days finding solutions that keep the likes of us up and running with out having to shell out a penny, or in Microsoft's case taken out a bloody mortgage to pay for their unfinished crap that's full of bugs and then expect us monkeys to find the problems for them, such as life, "its only plugged in monkeys that pay for the privilege of testing MS software for them" LOL.

Thanks again hazar This unplugged monkey thanks you greatly for all that you do :)
