I third that this an excellent tool. No issues after long usage! The author doesn't need to tell us which updates not to install because so far every update is acceptable. I have installed every update available and all of them work perfectly with rWat. The only one you will need to watch for is SP1 - that may create some new issues when it is released. But I'm sure it'll be a temporary thing...
And as far as I'm concerned your alternative ROCKS, keep up the good work. Had no problems using removewat, even with software that needed vallidation.
And you are sure your disability to get other hacks working has nothing to do with your OS knowlegde? Dude serious if you had any idea you would not have installed RemoveWat in the first place. And why create another Tool like RemoveWat? There are 1,2 even 3 alternatives available already who do not cripple your system or mess around with system files. Reading your comment you have convinced me your not really computer savvy, but probably one of those lazy persons that did not put any effort in understanding the activation mechanism build inside Vista, Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008. Just click and run and think you are activated. Enjoy while it last! Sorry Hazar, simply had to react to this guys comment... people who give advice in this thread, even if it is advising a different approach deserve better.
Quick question, I activated Windows 7 with this application. Would I have any issues installing hotfix KB2028560?
No you should be fine to install it. You can find those easily enough on torrent sites if you really want them
Hi Hazar, thanks for all your hard work, it worked like a charm with my copy! Let me ask you, what is the .dll in charge of showing the "windows is activated" message at the bottom of My Computer's Properties? And how do you make it disappear? Thanks
You should be a politician. The original question was "FreeStyler what are softwares that require validation" I answered and you've given a reply which answers a different question which was never put. Talk straight or not at all.
I agree, they are just taking a piss at you because they are jealous and not capable to build a tool like yours themselves. I'm happy with your tool, works great since November last year and still lets me update the Windows 7 parts I want without issues. Thanks!
Come on ppl, cool it. Like Hazar said, he's offering an alternative. I have installed Hazar and Daz loader on a couple of machines and both work fine. We are all here to try and help one another.
Thanks! Thanks for making this. I am having an issue with downloading xp mode for some old programmes I like to use. Is anyone else having the problem where when they try to download something from windows.com it's saying not a genuine windows 7? Does that mean I can't download certain programmes because of this programme? let me know or if there is a way around it? thanks!
Hello Everyone, I get this error message window using RemoveWAT 2.2.5: RemoveWAT is compiled as a 32-bit application. This means accesses to "%windir%\System32\sppwinob.dll" are translated into "%windir%\SysWOW64\sppwinob.dll" by the OS when run under a 64-bit platform. Dropping in sppwinob.dll into the SysWOW64 allowed the program to skip past the error message window which confirms this suspicion. Normally a 32-bit application will see System32 and SysWOW64 as the same set of files. The workaround to this is by creating a new junction point for example C:\windows\System32_Unhidden that links from C:\windows\System32. NTDLL.DLL will substitute C:\window\SysWOW64 only when it sees exactly C:\windows\System32. The OS leaves C:\windows\System32_Unhidden alone so a 32-bit program can still access the 64-bit system DLLs in the new directory that we created. Is RemoveWAT.exe actually deploying its files to the proper location? Is this why some people are getting strange behaviors? Thanks...
I'm having a problem where I keep getting notified that I have "XX days remaining" and warnings about activation after using this. Why is that?
Check out the torrent sites, it's been posted up there. Heaps easier then switching activation methods too!
The poster wanted to download stuff from Microsoft.com, and he can not do that so long that he is using RemoveWAT. Of course you can download the same programs from other sites, but it's not Microsoft.com.
