I'm new to this. 1)after extracting dvd, i would make a folder call "7files" then inside 7files is another folder call "source" and etc?? correct? 2) how do i make a patch file? do i need patch software to create a patch? or use "notepad" and type "%~dp0RemoveWAT.exe /s" then save the notepad as .cmd instead of .txt? 3) the RemoveWAT, will it activate just like 7loader 1.6.1d? Thanks
Make an $OEM$ folder and all the folders underneath like it says, then inside SCRIPTS make a new text file but change its extension to CMD and call it setupcomplete.cmd. Then put removewat.exe in with it and add those lines to setupcomplete.cmd (right click -> edit) then save it and open up the ISO in poweriso and drag $OEM$ into sources. And no this does not activate like a loader, it removes activation/.
during a service pack upgrade ============================ It does bring back the early XP WGA memories.
It's a betting game really, Hazar's bet is on the GRLDR getting knocked off first where as mines on MS doing signed DLL and system integrity checks and knocking off all tampered with systems (they even have a enum type for that known as "tampered" via their msdn page). Give it a few months and we shall find out, but it's down to the user to make the final choice Both get you Windows 7 for free, for how long we both can't say
Yeah, it could go either way really -- they could even take them both out at the same time. Lets see what the future holds when the next WGA lands
Technically the same form of cr4ck (well command line mods and the hacked DLL) should work for Vista too, if you put time into it. It would be interesting to know if the same setup for RemoveWAT also works on Vista, maybe something you should look into and support if possible?
Yep the same should be doable with vista, infact easier as vista requires no working around nags. When I used Vista I just went into system properties and disabled software licensing service
Might be worth an add then, get the OS support count up some more to match that of your 7Loader project. I'm sure some people would find it useful too
