Same here, first install of Windows 7 and I think RemoveWat 1.1(?), I have every update up until now (not the known KB**33 one) and still running without any issues!

You did a great job Hazar!

You can say it & it's the Windows Activation Technologies update put out by M$ which is the KB971033 update ;)

But as far as I'm aware RemoveWAT has that update built in & just disables it ???

That is correct removewat installs that update then disables it.

I've used RemoveWAT and removed the genuine check, however I'm still receiving a warning that my windows 7 isn't genuine and asking me to activate online.

Other than that warning I've not experienced any other problem though. Should I be worried?

I used an older version of RemoveWAT (one that didn't even have a GUI) on my computer that is using a legitimate copy of Windows 7. This was purely accidental, mind you. Since then, I receive the "Windows is not genuine" message in the lower right corner of my desktop sometimes.

I downloaded the newest version in this thread and to my avail it has a GUI but it says WAT isn't removed but I assure you it is. I just received that message again right now. The way I get rid of it is by right-clicking 'Computer' and going to 'Properties'. That's it and the message goes away.

However, I feel a bit uneasy about seeing that message on a legitimate copy of Windows 7. I bought the computer from Best Buy and it didn't even come with recovery CDs or anything :/

My question is this, can I use the newest version to remove the WAT and then use it again to restore it so things are back to the way they should or what should I do?

Edit: Apparently there is software pre-installed that I can make a recovery disc with. But before recovering everything back to manufacturer settings what can I do?

except WAT fix doesn't work perfectly every time. My slui.exe is still tampered, and sfc /scannow doesn't fix it either. Check the DAZ loader thread for info

Never said it worked 100% but, 9 out of 10 times WATFix does work. But if you don't try WATFix/Sfc /scannow you'll never know if it worked.

I would guess that permissions have been set so even the system cannot restore the file.
