How come the 2.2.6 does not work with MS SE anymore?

Seems MS found a way and implanted a check to flag it as non-genuine when using RemoveWat (I warned you all from the beginning this would happen sooner or later ;) )

    MSE woes & Laughs

So MSE rejected my removeWAT and gave me the 30 day countdown message. So I de-activated removeWAT and installed the Windows7 Rearm protocol (because my BIOS does not have SLIC 2.1- home built computer..)

So I am now (still) no longer "genuine" (from original KB update in April/May) but MSE seems to be functioning, since it tells me that the Rearm is a program I should probably get rid of....LOL...

Using your removewat worked like a champ, thanks. The "Not genuine Windows" doesn't show up anymore, but I'm still having issues trying to download Microsoft Security Essentials. It still comes up and tells me my windows in not genuine. Can I get around this somehow?
Thanks in advance, great site with lots of good info.

used removewat a couple of months ago to get rid of "Windows not genuine" message and it worked until a couple of days ago when message returned. I tried running removewat again and it said wga was already removed so I put it back using the tool and then removed it again but the message will not go away. Any suggestions

Well ok, it does work for windows updates but the MS security essentials app, well anti virus doesn't work anymore, it does not validate windows as being genuine.
