if it's caused by an invalid key, it's possible that this is the lenovo one, since all the others are actually shipping

    Just a little update:

1.7 should have the genuine fix, and a bugfix with the /s switch causing explorer to terminate.

Maybe you're right... I will try to do a new installation with another key.

Hazar, is it possible to change the key when we have apply the RemoveWAT ???

I've tried to uninstall the patch but I've got error messages every time I used the slmgr function... Then I install a new 7 but for next time, if you know a solution or have a fix, it will be great ;)

You have to rename slmgr.disabled to slmgr.vbs then use the slmgr -upk command to remove any present key. And use the slmgr commands to invoke a valid key if you want to.

Do I reove the 1.5 to install the 1.7?
Does this use up another re-arm?

If you remove 1.5 and want to use 1.7 then yes you lose another rearm.

I found disabling soosvc caused update issues, the next release is almost ready, just one strange thing:

The reg tweak I am applying to make it genuine works beautifully in post installation, but does not work with the /s switch in $OEM$. The registry data is still written however.

For this kind of tools, definitive releases don't exist.
It can always be inproved, and that's axactly what will happen, so use it when it looks ok for you.

I posted my opinion about this unsafe method and should only...

be used for experimental only but some only deleted it intentionally. Neat! :D:cool:

That is because you kept opening pointless threads and aggresivley putting your point across in an arrogant manner.

    On a cooler note:

Work on the new patching mechanism is almost complete, this will 100% kill the core of the problem and remove all software protection completely

The truth hurt - Nothing's so 'pointless' only you're exposed but never...

except the 'hidden' truth. NO SUCH 100% and NOW MORE PROMISING. Good work??!

Don't get me wrong. I just pointed out there's a heavy cost to beat M$ even with a genious (ain't yet see one) and people are using the so called 'RemoveWAT' will soon pay a hard price for a 'try and error' piece of s because they're confused between God and human :D;)
