I think that it may be best if we just all ignore "ComputerDownloads." If he is like most other children, if you ignore him he'll go away. Again, thanks to Hazar, Daz, nononsence, and all the others who are truly contributing something.
"not genuine" again appeared on desktop but it will go away as soon as I do Properties on Computer (Control Panel/System) just posting personal observation ... everything is still working perfectly .... ... thanks to Hazar
other people are also reporting intermitent not genuine messages, and a couple reports of wow/older hazar activators not working any more (I think he made it to MS's dookie list) if someone having this problem could setup a packet sniffer and rule out some kind of background activation check being sent out to MS that would be great. also next time see if running notepad, wordpad, mspaint, calculator will clear the non genuine message.
sppc.dll is in c:\windows\system32 it might have been renamed to sppc.bak sppc.dll and slc.dll should not be messed with too many things break I would imagine that server would be more sentive to these to files being tampered with.
Dear Hazar, Ur RW 1.9 is working just fine with me so far (1 week or so), but I was reading somewhere that MS will try to nullify this when Sp1 comes out , although I'm quite sure u'll be perfectly able to counterbalance that. Here's to hoping for a better future !
ROFL... Everything is easy to code when you rip the source and just move things on the form around and re-color things, and then give no credits to the real author. I tried your key-cert-branding tool and it messed up my welcome center on Win7... And that is about as simple as an application gets to code. this is because windows gets mad if sppsvc is disabled i just walked past my machine that has a proper bios mod and it had a watermark saying not genuine. then i remember i disabled sppsvc turned it back on the watermark went away maybe hazar should look into that too what causes windows to get mad if the sppsvc service is off
Well it no longer disables sppsvc, but reason it gets mad is this: Certain security packed executables such as the control panel, paint, notepad etc. have an inbuilt check to do the following: Check for read access on SLUI Check for read access on sppsvc.exe check the startup type of sppsvc if they fail on one of those test, exactly 180 minutes later the program will display a nag screen. The same check is in user32.dll I believe
