Well it no longer disables sppsvc, but reason it gets mad is this: Certain security packed executables such as the control panel, paint, notepad etc. have an inbuilt check to do the following: Check for read access on SLUI Check for read access on sppsvc.exe check the startup type of sppsvc if they fail on one of those test, exactly 180 minutes later the program will display a nag screen. The same check is in user32.dll I believe
First thanks for your excellent soft, i try it on x86 ans x64 without any problem, my question is : RemoveWat 2.0 does it works with N-1 versions of seven ? Thanks for feeback And again very big thanks guys for your job JAHL
Excellent answer, i'm glad to hear that Your response is quick and i appreciate that, now i can get N-1 and tweaks it!!!! Thanks Mister Hazar and all who participate at this program. JAHL
no it will nag by what ever is in the registry you should really learn about it before you tell me its 180minutes i can change it so it doesnt do anything for 6hours
its all good you still have the whole registry side to the sppsvc and now you know that the nag interval can be change with a reg entry to make it more interesting ill let you figure out what one it is
If RemoveWAT 1.6 works for me, do I need to upgrade to 2.0? what are the differences between the two?
Hmmm, just found an interesting problem... Try opening any inf file to view the information and there is a microsoft window pop up saying windows is not genuine...
Windows 7 Enterprise 90 Day Trial Question is: Will this work on the Windows 7 Enterprise 90 day trial?
Strewth Why in the name of s**t does someone with a computer configuration say this dont work or this is happening on my machine ergo this is broke, gosh cant be me the hack is screwed. Sure some folks are reporting but others are moaning, and as for the rest of you a good Micky$haft by an elephant would be kind. Understand this, no matter how hard any company tries their product will never work on every configuration on every machine on the planet. Micky$oft have entire buildings stuffed with highly paid brainy people devoted to trying to minimize the hassles of global configurations. RemoveWAT is one fellahs conceptual approach to making something do something it aint supposed to do. If Micky$shaft cant figure out all configurations, then I doubt this fellah will get it right either, concept yes, configurations no. So it will either work or it wont. Live with it. From the OS perspective it should, could, would, but that does not mean it will. So if it does not work for you, by all means report it, but all of you children on this board.... Hacking Micky$shaft is one way, but remember before you tit suckers were here there were us, and we hack everything NSA n' all. Where else did you get the idea. Respects to you Hazar. Nuff Said
Hazar you've sorta been mentioned on Gizmoto and that made the front page of digg.com. They mention your method and tool but don't name it.
