Will MS do something about removing WAT? Depends on will that change create problems to regular customers. Same goes for Loaders too. If removing these two methods of "hacking" W7 protection means that regular (OEM) customers will have problems I dont think MS will release such patch. Also this patch from MS should not create false positives when it comes to detection of "genuine" products. Just imagine what your reaction would be if you bought W7 and one day after some update you see Not genuine nag despite the fact that on you desk you have original genuine W7 install box? Will you call MS support? What if you have OEM installed W7 on you notebook? Which support would you call? Will OEMs be happy with such elevated support activity?

I do not have any intention of turning on AutoUpadate, can you folks specify where I can get the important ones that do not make any attempt to undo RemoveWat 1.9? Thanks.:)

So far, none of the updates tries to undo the effects of RemoveWAT. Only a loader has been so far removed, by windows malicious software removal tool.

So it's safe so far, regarding the status of removewat, to install any updates for Win 7.

Best advice is not to install SP the moment is gets released ... wait few days, monitor posts on this forum and you will know what to do.

Do I need to enter a serial number before using this or will it stop Windows 7 expiring in 30 days as well as stopping the WGA check?

Has there been any windows updates since 11/25 because whenever I check for updates I get nothing. I remember there were updates for Windows Defender coming out every week.

I just install W7, dont apply any keys or loaders what so ever, then use RemoveWAT? or do i need to use the loader before the RemoveWAT?

Tried it on a laptop before, but wasnt able to do any updates.

    Older versions interfered with updates.

A loader is a seperate solution based on actually fooling the system. This one removes the protection system from the OS

I received a "NOT GENUINE" error message

I was trying different things with a test installation of Windows 7 Home Premium that was patched with RemoveWAT 2.1, and here are some things that I experienced:

    1. No operating errors, so far.
    2. Windows Update works properly.
    3. I installed Silverlight - no problem.
    4. I tried to install Microsoft Security Essential - and the "NOT GENUINE" error message was generated, and the installation would not continue. This is not really a problem for me because I just wanted to see what would happen with a Microsoft software compliance check. Is this normal, or should it have passed?

I will eventually delete this test installation.
