Does this work with Windows 7 home? And I will never need to activate/the system wont be disabled at any point?
When upgrading to a new version, do you want to restore WAT and then install the new version? Thanks, LoL
Hi Hazar, I received the following error message when attempting to use RemoveWat 2.1 today from my Windows Live Family Safety Filter (strangely enough): "Access is denied. Error code 80070005" I have Windows Live Family Safety installed to protect my kids when online. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (RTM). I have two user accounts (mine as Admin and the kids account). I am also dual booting with a Linux Distro which I am using Grub2 as my bootloader. Don't know if any of this information is necessary, but I figured its best to offer it up front rather than through a series of back and forths. Additionally, after running RemoveWat, all of the icons in my system panel/notification area disappear (uTorrent, Growl, CCC, NOD32, etc.). Any idea what I can do to fix these problems?
I have 2 machines installed with Win7 using the same ISO installers from the repository... I used WAT on one of my PCs and it run smoothly... but when i used it on the other... it doesnt seem to run.. my cursor whows busy icon then nothing happens.. i cant even see the WAT Remover window running... how come?!
This is a great tool =). Just one question, will this work with all updates including service packs? Will an update render it useless?
That happened to me before too. No matter what program I ran the windows cursor would just keep spinning and nothing happens. I found out I had a trojan and had to do a system restore to fix the problem.
By blocking, preventing, removing and disabling access to or loading of the activation and licensing related system files, SLUI will fail to start, causing activation been circumvented and Windows does not need to be activated anymore, for forever and permanently
how bout Windows Repair... coz i think i was silly enough to delete other states of my System Restore via RegCleaner..... my other problem was Catalyst Control Center failes to run too after a driver update.. i guess i have to reformat the entire disk for this one... and try WAT Remover fresh.... thanks!
Quick update ... installed RemoveWAT 2.0 over a month ago ... today I got "not genuine" message on desktop so went for standard right-click on Computer/Properties to remove it and ... this did not remove the message. So ... started RemoveWAT 2.0 went for Restore WAT option, waited a bit and after that applied RemoveWAT 2.1 and restated. After that "not genuine" did not appear on my desktop. ps. No updates installed since yesterday: Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - December 2009 (KB890830) Installation date: 12/09/2009 12:02 Installation status: Successful Update type: Important After the download, this tool runs one time to check your computer for infection by specific, prevalent malicious software (including Blaster, Sasser, and Mydoom) and helps remove any infection that is found. Hello, registered here to ask a question. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate and on the 29th day before it asked me to activate it, I used version 2.1 of this tool. Everything seemed to be fine until the next day when I started to get an annoying dialog box popping up. The forum wont let me post images, but the title of dialog box is "Windows Activation" and the contents say: "An unauthorized change was made to Windows. Windows must be reinstalled to activate. Insert the Windows installation DVD or CD into your computer to begin the reinstallation process." Then it just has a Close button, and an X button on the top right corner. So far I have been just closing it out, but it seems to pop back up and take focus every 3 hours or so. Rather annoying if you ask me, and I can't seem to figure out how to get rid of it besides a reinstall, did I do something wrong? I haven't tried rebooting yet because after a quick google search it seems people getting this dialog box are not able to reboot, I will likely be forced to reboot soon and I hope I can, but I was curious if this dialog box is normal? I also had one other question I can't seem to find in the 101 pages of this topic, I'm sure its there though somewhere. I know that if the current version of this tool works, theirs no reason to update it, but when 2.2 is released it seems there is some significant changes. So when that is out, how would I go about updating to 2.2 from 2.1? Thanks.
This does not work for me, I had tried on Windows Server 2008 r2 trail version which I downloaded direct from MS website. After I run the RemoveWAT 2.1 the server reboot itself every 5 to 10 sec I don't even have time to logon. Is this version still work with server 2008 r2 or I did somthing wrong? Thanks
2.1 works perfect in w7 ultimate x86. The only thing are the mui packs at wu. They are gone from downloadlist. But, it doesnt matter.
hazars my boy as well as to other members in this forum, my stupid question is i installed my windows 7 ultimate x32 system and installed all updates and run the removewat 2.1 then i set to receive all update and installing it automatically but it still says mine is genuine windows and receiving and installing the update today also without any problem and i really come to my stupid question it is safe or not. thats it nothing else. its cool bother (i.e. removewat2.1) (i.e. 2 cool still now ) ps: i set my computer date to 2099 i checked it validity it says valid no warning, i can open notepad and edit any files, save it without any problem. as well as i invoked wmplayer but wmplayer says my date has been set to forward so it recommends me to set back to true date, why this strange warning still now i don not know. my computer still receiving updates and installing it without my intervention and still says genuine
No need to set bios time to 2099. Install win 7 - download all WU - run RemoveWat. I dont think MS are able to kill this patch, at least untill sp1 are realiced sometime in future
Outstanding work Hazar. I am running Win 7 Ult / activated with RemoveWAT21 on a laptop and on a desktop computer. The desktop has been running for a month and updating properly. The laptop was just switched to RemoveWat21 on the last day of nonactivation period right after the December Windows 7 updates and so far everything is working correctly and like clock work! I have turned off Windows Auto Update and from here on out will update manually. Many thanks to all that contribute to this thread, but especially HAZAR!!
Hello everyone. I'm totally new here on this forum. Registered like 10 mins ago or something. But yeah. I have a question about the RemoveWAT v2.1. When i haven't activated Windows 7 Ultimate RTM that i have now and have like 19 days left to activate Windows 7 and then use RemoveWAT. Will Windows 7 Ultimate be taken as Genuine then even when all of the activation things and the Genuine logo in under System are gone after using RemoveWAT?. I'm asking because the 'Windows 7 Loader By Orbit30 & Hazar v1.6.1D' doesn't seems to work for me now. Alright, that was the question.
