RemoveWAT 2.2 has been released, which should fix all current issues. Please see the about box for changes!
First thing my sincerely greetings for this great job This version stills freezing when using in W2008 R2 in a VirtualBox v 3.1.2 anyway perfect job
Unfortunately, I seem to be suffering the same issue as before, only the progress bar now stops at about 1/10 instead of 1/4. I also can't help noticing after beginning RemoveWAT that I have duplicates of many of my Windows services listed in Task Manager... cmd.exe, conhoast.exe, net.exe, and net1.exe have all inexplicably doubled up. [[EDIT: After rebooting and attempting again, there are no more duplicate services, but RemoveWAT still hangs early. After ending the task and attempting it again, the duplicate services came back. Yeesh.]]
This is really strange. I'll install Server 2008 R2 in a virtual machine and debug it, and try and see where it gets stuck. Or, if you want, you can help out. Do you have any experience with debugging programs in VMs and so on?
Hey Hazar, thanks for this tool!!! I just wanted to report that the watermark is still not removed in my machine. I Restoreded WAT with 2.1.3 and Removed again with 2.2, but the "This is not an original copy" persists!
Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with debugging, but if you can point me in the direction of any software that could log what's going on for you to look at, I'd be more than happy to create a debug log of what's happening with RemoveWAT. To give some more detailed information, I'm using Windows 7 Enterprise, 32 bit version. As for updates applied, I have one hotfix (KB975467), three security updates (KB973525, KB974455, KB974571), and five normal updates (KB974332, KB974431, KB975364, KB976098, KB976749). Automatic updates are, of course, turned off now. I've got eight days left to activate. Previous attempts to rearm only gave me about ten days instead of the 30 I was expecting, so I have no idea if I have any rearm attempts remaining. Unfortunately, this PC was given to me by my boyfriend and he still has the installer disk, which is in another country right now, so my ability to reinstall Windows 7 is about nill at the moment.
Thanks I think I have read everything on windows 7 activations. I chose this one because of its simplicity. Well Hazar, thought you were not supporting this, and yet you continue. With out thanks I might add at times, you never seem to give up. This is the reason I picked RemoveWat. I have installed Professional 7 32bit, no key was used. I used a good hash iso. I installed 2.1. My count down continued to 2 days, and I had no worries, but then 2.2 arrived. Being in a hurry I installed 2.2 without removing 2.1. Remembering all that I had read in these threads, I then used 2.2 to uninstall, and reinstalled. Probably not necessary, but I did it anyways. RemoveWAT 2.2 got rid of my count down, which I expected. I have ESET, absolutely no problems with 2.2. I temperately lost my hidden icons, but a reboot clear this up. I have upgraded every update, and have never turned it off. Hope this helps someone. Thanks once again, and since we are always testing, it is a great tool. You have a great future ahead of you. Dont forget your homework, and thanks again.
Thank you! And as another member stated.... You have a great future ahead of you. And, don't forget your homework... Flex
thanks Hazar for your efforts ... i upgraded to 2.2 and it works fine on my win 7 box ... but unable to get it to work on a different R2 box ... as with the "virtual box" problem someone else documented, the green bar hangs at about 1/3 of the way ... your help would be greatly appreciated ...
I have just down loaded RemoveWat22 and filed it for now. Both my machines using RemoveWat21 are working flawlessly, so I have decided to leave well enough alone. It is a relief that you have had second thoughts about supporting this great piece of software. This software is just awesome. Again, many thanks for all the excellent work you do!!
Hello everyone, I am currently adding code to detect if you are running on a 90 day trial version from microsoft, and seamlessley apply a patch to disable it. It will add an exe to the startup of your computer, which may come up as a virus. It is not, it is just a hidden batch file to terminate the counter every time you turn on the PC. This will only be applied if you are running on a trial version downloaded from microsoft's 90 day trial site
Ok, RemoveWAT 2.2.1 is now released. It will now add an exe to your startup folder to disable the shutdown timer, but only if you are running on a trial ISO from microsoft. This exe will generate a UAC prompt, so either disable UAC if you're on a 90 day trial ISO, or just click Yes on each boot
What about clean changelogs Im a bit lost with all these versions. May I suggest you to setup at home a Subversion server, so you can locally commit your changes, and you can easily copy paste the changelogs then just a 2cent suggestion Using 2.1 on Win7 x64 Ultimate without problems here, nasty job! edit: If you dunno what is a Subversion server this is very useful to keep a trace of source codes for all versions so you can revert to any version in seconds, keep textual logs of all versions especially useful to share with the community, I do this when writing AddOns for World of Warcraft Im able to keep a trace of all source revision and all logs that way, it pwns when a project as many many versions.
Hi, I tried all methods within Open 7 Activator but none worked for my VAIO, this one doesn't work for me either. Do you know what I could try? Thanks for your effort!
