Just install it first and then RemoveWAT it. Then you won't have to worry about it popping up on Windows update.

This did not work right for me. I first restored WAT using version 2.1 then i installed the WAT update. I then installed RemoveWAT. After rebooting i ran windows update now while it checks for updates i get this error 8007007E. I also tried installing the WAT update after RemoveWAT. I get the same error.

    Hi,

That isn't possibly WAT related, as MS always allow updates (important ones) no matter what

Any suggestion on what might be causing it and a solution?

a virus could cause it... i had to deal wit a rootkit that messed up auto updates and anything that had to do with M$ websites lol. clean install fixed it for me...

I even tried system restore and the same thing. I guess i may have to do a clean install. I'd rather avoid that though if at all possible.

*EDIT* problem solved. It turns out it was as simple as running sfc /scannow.

are you able to use RemoveWAT along with a loader? Just curious

Yes but this is useless. Either use RemoveWAT or one of the loaders...

    Hazar-
    I have tried v2.2.4:
    1) cause problems with slmgr commands, now when I type a slmgr command - nothing happens, I have tried to restore wat but I still have this problem.
(IT works pefectly before I tried removewat v2.2.4, other commands works ok).
    2) after I uninstall it the watermark is not restored.
    3) it's not pass microsoft online validation that will soon be mandatory to download new updates.

    1. check if the original user32.dll was restored correctly and if yes, download MGAdiag u get ur "non genuine" watermark back...lol
    2. This is a known limitation... may be fixed in the future.. just be patient
    3. If u remove WAT slmgr.vbs gets renamed to slmgr.vbs.removewat

    I have a pro x64 unicode machine,

this is just not professional, removewat should restore the original user32.dll and slmgr.vbs automatically.

    EDIT:
I ran "sfc /scannow" check, and now user32.dll was restored and I got the watermark back.
but I still have the slmgr problem.

OK I fixed the problem manually.
seems like on my machine v2.2.4 does not remove the slmgr.vbs AND change "slmgr.vbs.removewat" back to slmgr.vbs.
ALSO it does not restore user32.dll.

Well this can be due to "access-rights" or "this file is currently in use" stuff

lol those are easy to fix tho :p sfc /scanfile for user32.dll and make backups in other directories for slmgr.vbs

    internal sources :p
    I have a common sense.
the future will tell you that i'm right.
microsoft will not allow to use windows update and download center
    without validation.
and this WAT update is the microsoft validation for windows 7.
for now it's optional (for testing and to fix bugs/errors)
anyway, do you plan to fix the problems I mentioned?
    secr9tos
I don't think so because the files were not in use.
    PAYMYRENT
yeah, that is how I fixed it.
