lol those are easy to fix tho sfc /scanfile for user32.dll and make backups in other directories for slmgr.vbs
Hazar internal sources I have a common sense. the future will tell you that i'm right. microsoft will not allow to use windows update and download center without validation. and this WAT update is the microsoft validation for windows 7. for now it's optional (for testing and to fix bugs/errors) anyway, do you plan to fix the problems I mentioned? secr9tos I don't think so because the files were not in use. PAYMYRENT yeah, that is how I fixed it.
Yep... This was pure speculation coz RemoveWAT contains functions to revert the changes and yes even for user32.dll & slmgr.vbs so I don't know why it did not work....
Actually, you're really wrong then. Have you read their policy? Even known pirates will always get important updates. It protects legit people say a pirate was running a web server and didnt get the updates he could cause problems for other people Also, WAT due to its spyware nature is always optional its going to be exactly like the WGA notifications tool for XP
God bless you. A clever man should not have any questions in regard with this topic, after this clear and simple statements. I appreciate your efforts very much Thank you.
Dude, this is a feature! Maybe you should read up a little what RemoveWat exactly changes before you blindly install it!
Yea, but I just want to be sure I haven't done anything wrong. Is it on purpose it removes where it says it have been activated?
Ok, Hazar But I think it's funny because when I look in my install/remove programs "feature" it normally shows all "KB's" and 971033 doesn't display. It doesn't too when I search for updates?
Hey thanks for the work guys. Just a heads up, on Windows 7 Ultimate x86, everything seems to work as indicated, except that now Microsoft Security Essentials and also the online validation tool no longer validate windows as genuine... and Security Essentials will stop working in 30-days due to use on non-genuine windows. This is with 2.2.4 On Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit, so far no problems. Even the newest updated version of Security Essentials still seems to work. Have not tried the online validation yet. You have fixed the constant-reboot problem with version 2.2 that used to happen on all previous versions of RemoveWAT with my 64-bit Windows 7 Enterprise. Also, fixed the hanging problem when trying to run RemoveWAT under Server 2008 R2. Thanks again guys!
