Ok, i just installed a Windows 7 AIO in my computer, and everything running well so far, i've installed the RemoveWat ( nice work btw ) but i just have one question: Can i update my windows at all just not the KB971033? I've read some people saying that it's ok to update, some people saying that i shouldnt update anything at all, so a good answer is always welcome. Thanks in advance
I updated everything except KB971033 which I hide. I don't know why anyone would want to do that update unless for testing purposes.
Actually unless you write a custom SP 1 pack then the WAT update will be included in it dude. Sorry to say that but it is true. Check with M$ as proof dude.
This just can't be true, it shouldn't be hard to remove those WAT features. Well, I can't do it myself, but my theory says it shouln't be so hard!
just installed the KB971033 update. using a loader, actually went to the site to manual check if i was genuine or not, so far so good
@Zero1995 it will install it but you can always remove the WAT components if you want to via crack or manual removal. @udidwht I have been reading a lot about the service pack for windows 7 and a lot of indications are telling me that the WAT update will be integrated into SP1. Why would M$ leave that out when it will be such an important update? They added that vista update to SP2 which is similar. You are right though as it is really hard to say at this point. One thing is for sure though, if it is integrated it is possible to remove it from the package. Also if you ever heard of RockerTeam, they make custom OSes and they will remove the update if it is integrated so don't worry.
Hey Haz, one question: I'm running RWAT 2.2.4, and all genuine, but I just got the "this copy of windows is not genuine" message watermark on the bottom right-hand corner of my Desktop. Tried uninstalling RWAT, reboot, installing RWAT, reboot. No change. So I applied your "remove watermark" patch you added to the earliest versions of RWAT - that did the trick. But is that a bad idea to combine that with RWAT 2.2.4? Because I saw the patch 'patches' user32.dll (what I thought it said), and isn't that one of the files you supply patched with RWAT 2.2.4? Cheers for your help
Hmm. Secr9tos wrote a patched user32.dll, and it seems to replace it and remove the watermark from my testing
@Watzwat: Can you give link for "So I applied your "remove watermark" patch you added to the earliest versions of RWAT - that did the trick." which RWAT version is this,I hope you understand me, thanks
I have same problem with watermark on desktop... But where can I find the "remove watermark" patch ??? I´m running RWAT 2.2.4 but can´t find an option for removing watermark... Thanks! sockd
@sockd & KTr1sk: What OS type do u have? X86 or X64?? Btw.. calculate the hash of the native user32.dlls they should be: user32_x64_no_watermark.dll SHA-1 : 785D332F 0239071E ABF74F1D 1E2106F7 8B99A42A user32_x86_no_watermark.dll SHA-1 : 03C47973 F52800A6 AE21F1A5 992E331B 4A9B2837
I have x64, and two of them, one just for testing, I have questions, because I have installed Windows many people and am interested in your experience, thanks
