Hi.. Quick question...Is the validation of Windows 7 the same as Windows XP? What I mean is that...I remember that as long as you didn't register your copy of XP, you could use the same Serial on other PCs. Is this the same with Windows 7 or once you input the product key it will get registered automatically?
I cant say for sure, but I would imagine that MS learnt their lesson from XP and have made the registration side of W7 more robust... saying that the activation side of it seems simple enough like it was on XP thanks to the guys in this community..
Isnt that a RC / trial version? Apparently, remove WAT isnt meant for RC versions. However, Im running 7100 RC on one of my machines without any problems so far, fingers xd Same here, if its not giving problems I wouldnt worry for now. Only time will tell for sure If you want to upgrade from a RC/ trial version to the Retail release you need to run a clean install I believe.
I downloaded it because I can get 32bit and 64bit for free. And I mainly wanted more features in Windows. I now need to burn it to a DVD so I can have my own copy of Windows 7 instead of using the disk that is my parents
im confused about using this on RC, on page 129 hazaar himself says its fine but a couple pages back from the final page, someone states u can't.....what's with the conflict of details? thanks
Tank you! Thanks hazar! Woke this morning to find that Santa Gates had paid me a visit, ran you your tool and now back up and running pre-update. turning updates off now! Quick question will i still be able to update manually or will i be blocked and what happens 90 days from now, will i have to rerun if they sneak it past me again? They lurk in dark places!
After running WAT remover. I am not able to update windows or my MSE Also M$ site is not validating my windows as genuine.
Why take any MS updates? Thanks, Hazar! I just installed RemoveWAT, which erased a lot of aggravation from nag screens (demo expired). Hi, everyone else! I'm just another stupid noob, but after following this thread, and all the tales of woe from those who have installed Microsoft updates, I truly wonder how many know first-hand what happens when you just reject all updates from Microsoft. This may sound insane, but with Microsoft having made it so plain to see that it has Microsoft's, and only Microsoft's interest in mind, maybe the rest of the world really can keep your computer safe and working without any further dealings with The Man. I haven't installed one single update from Microsoft, but I keep my third-party firewall and anti-malware up-to-date. After about 10 months, Windows 7 is still the fastest, and most stable OS I have ever used, including Ubuntu. I use my system for everything from posting in forums like these to editing graphics, media files, and burning p2p downloads - no problems so far. Does anybody know for sure why I may really need any updates from Microsoft, which no trustworthy third parties can provide as good or better?
