I just did a test with Acronis 2010 v13.5055 dos boot disk (no need to install). Did a perfect backup/restore with Win7 and hidden 100mb partition. It also preserved the partition alignment which is good for SSD users like myself. (apparently earlier versions of acronis didn't preserve partition alignment).
