I always done it with this guide, and have noproblem with Windows Loader without 2.1 slic, It is faster and simply, without modify win dvd.
could someone help me? I need a patch for WINSETUP.DLL I need a partition reserved for system 500mb I will incorporate the hidden partition on wimre ..
I cannot get the part when you say "If you choose next you will get the normal partition layout with the hidden partition. But if you click Drive Options (advanced) you can create a partition using the whole disk and the hidden partition will not be forced upon you.". Isn't this the normal behavior without the patched winsetup.dll? It is the same explained here: mydigitallife.net/2009/01/09/how-to-avoid-200mb-hidden-system-partition-from-been-created-during-windows-7-installation/ (point #2) when it says "If possible, try to create all the necessary partition(s) and format the partition(s) before attempting to install Windows 7." Am i wrong?
Hi, hope I understood you correctly, feel free to correct me if I'm talking about something else.... If you don't want the hidden partition, don't allow Windows to format. Use other means like 3rd party or the manufactures tool.
Hi, 3rd party or the way mentioned, both methods are effortless and require minimal skills..... no pain either way. Paragon is the only tool I'll use personally, never Windows.
Installing Windows 7 without hidden / Reserved Partition (100 MB) - other working option 1. Highlight the drive where you want to install Windows 7 and click on "Advanced" 2. If it is a new drive, create a new Partition(Windows will create the 100MB Partition in addition to your new Partition) 3. Delete your newly created Partition, and leave the 100 MB Partition! 4. Select 100 MB Partition AND confirm to Extend it!! Note: If for some reason it does not work immediatelly, i.e. windows start to install, cancel installation! Then you have option to start installation again and you have Reserved (100 MB) and the other Partition displayed Now you can delete the other Partition and extend the Reserved one (confirm to extend it) This works 100%, and you will have just one Partition after Windows 7 are installed When you start your new windows 7 it shows your local disk with name System Reserved(You can change it) sedmi
Hello, I have not omitted anything in my post perhaps I would have to specify explicitly that what I have written works when making win 7 installation from original/nonmodified DVD media. It is only about installing - not activating hope this is clear now And I confirm that what I have written I have tested 1. in vmware/virtual windows 2. on a real hardware and it worked without a problem Regards, sedmi
I was not asking for help when I started this thread, please do not post recipes on how to re-size, partition with 3rd party software, or use diskpart or any other rube goldberg contraption you discovered, this thread is about patching winsetup.dll everything else is off topic.
