Looking for latest release of Windows 10 Server OS TP. I believe the magnet links posted here are client OS.
So first all I just want to try this for my own personal interest, I'm not a developer so please don't flame me or anything. So I tried to upgrade using 9901. I tried earlier with the WD Technical Preview 9879 and after booting up I was just getting a flashing blue screen and spinning cursor, fortunately I'd imaged my system so I factory reset my laptop and re-imaged. Now I want to try this 9901 but it just doesn't start. Any help is appreciated.
When you tried before with 9879, was that an upgrade attempt as well or was it clean install? I can't answer this with 100% certainty because 9901 is kind of a mixed bag of results for different users and different machines. Also, it was initially reported that upgrading in 9901 was broken to some degree. That may have only been in reference to upgrading from 9901 to future builds. Even clean installs with 9901 aren't working all the time, sometimes ending with different results randomly. In my opinion, I wouldn't use 9901 for an upgrade. For an upgrade, I would try one of the official Insider builds instead of the leaked builds. Or do clean install with any builds for better results.
Both builds were upgrade attempts. As anyone had any upgrade success and with which version? I'm still keen to try this.
I too was not able to upgrade with 9901 over 9888. Booting from dvd worked, and it seems to be perfect.
So upgrade with 9879 seemed to work but I ended up with the flickering screen, it would appear the intel iris drivers provided by the oem are at fault or the installation files are not compatible with intel iris. Guess my lappy will just have to wait for the Windows Update channel.
