yea your hardware changed rendering the backup useless... if you installed a different key and activated its ok backup again
LMAO,thanks..btw i will leave alone bacup files what is another backup programs?? ..which one better? and i will able to activite windows 7 sp1 or sp2 with the bakcup files? when i want to send pm to you Its sayin me PAYMYRENT has exceeded their stored private messages quota and cannot accept further messages until they clear some space.
I just want to let you all know that the key get tie to the cpu motherboard and not hardrive or video card ram so changing them should not do anything your activation and a retail key can be move from one machine to and other as long as you wipe the old one out
PAYMEYRENT, does it support Windows Server 2008 R2 too? And can you add support for Vista / Server 2008? (especially for MAK backup ) [fs]
I backed up my activation (W7 retail Home Premium 64) so that I could do a fresh reinstall. None of my hardware has changed, but I did reformat C: rather than end up with a Windows.OLD. Would this formatting (and changing of UUIDs or whatever) make a difference in restoring my activation? The restore process worked great, but when I slmgr.vbs -ato I get the error: "Error: 0xC004C008 - The activation server... product key could not be used." Any suggestions? If worst comes to worst I can call MS again - I've already done it once and backed up hoping I could avoid a 2nd call.
Hey paymyrent, I know right now it is in Beta but are you guys going to make another version for backup/restore of MS Office 2010 activation too? I think it uses a similar system like win7 to activate so it will probably work.
cool, it just souds that it will help alot of ppl out because I hear that office will only be able to get activated a certain amount of times like win7. I believe office 2007 was like that but I have a volume key that I got from Vista Eternity by RockersTeam lol
I tried searching the forums for your office pid checker but I couldn't find it, so can you please give me a download link.
my office pid checker is for 2010 so if you want i can send\post it here.... its not only a 2010 pid checker but a win7\server 08 r2 and win vista\server 08 pid checker... oh and visual studio lol
@PAYMYRENT I know in Windows 7 that We only need to back up 2 files such as pkeyconfig.xrm-ms & token.dat and use Retail Key to Activate Offline as re-installing. But in Windows Vista, I have no ideas what files to back up. Do you know somewhere around on internet showing how to back up in Windows Vista, Let me know, please. Much Appreciated !
