Back again, I agree, a system image would sort things out that's what I used on an Acer Aspire one last year same prob small drive chockablock with junk. Pads are not my fav piece of kit, why go to all that bother to get a hi res screen, to get greasy fingerprints all over it touchpadding so you can't see. Anyway I fell heir to this Sam Galaxy 3 lite when my friend went back to Taiwan he was so fed up with it. He had filled it up with music so much that it had no room to update so in addition to being slow it was almost always locked up. Got a 32gb sd card and moved everything I could off the main drive, that helped a lot I still don't like it but it's handy in a coffee shop on the road , like today. At least it's got a flavor of Linux on it. Message is get a big sd card and move things like restore to it that so you've got some elbow room on the main drive. ...T
Hey Bat that screenshot is similar to what I have but I don't seem to have the Sensor I/O device category and there is one accelerometer in software device. Do you have anything for Kionix sensor in system devices menu? and does the simple device orientation sensor have a device /hardware id? or is it a generic one? Edit; In the MS link there is a mention of some registry entries which is missing in mine I don't even have a sensors folder in the reg.
No hardware ID, just says Sensors\SensorsServiceDriver. Fusin Device doesn't have a HWID either The accelerometer says ACPI\VEN_SMO&DEV_8500 ACPI\SMO8500 *SMO8500 The Goodix Touch HID is made by Shenzhen Huiding Technologies ACPI\VEN_GDIX&DEV_1001 ACPI\GDIX1001 *GDIX1001 The registry entries are to turn the display 90 or 180 degrees depending on what problem You have @tonto11. I have a 32GB card installed since the 16GB HDD is partitioned with 9.45GB for C: and 4.88GB for Recovery. Never see 1GB free space on C: So I'm guessing most people delete the recovery partition so they can try Win 10
The ACPI\VEN value isn't that part of the ids to identify the device? in my compatible ids list it just has sensors\sensorservicedriver SWD\GenericRaw SWD\Generic In Capabilities value is 000000D0 CM_DEVCAP_UNIQUEID CM_DEVCAP_RAWDEVICEOK CM_DEVCAP_SURPRISEREMOVALOK how surprising WTH IS ^^^^^^^
It was past My bedtime and I'm still not sure exactly what You're looking for My ONE USB port is wore out and it's a wiggle to make something work operation. Using a stylus is a pain. Should have bought a Bluetooth mouse when I got the tablet I've got a Mate that lives in "The Middle of Nowhere" sorry Tennant Creek that I knew had a Pendo Pad 10 in Android version. Saw a pic on Facebook of His daughter holding a new iPad last Week. He was having so many problems He sold it on one of His Local Groups. Since You don't seem to be having any luck finding a recovery image online, it might be a better option looking though Your local, swap/sale groups It looks like the Bosch G Sensors were "Mostly" used on ACER models So maybe or not a download for one of those might work
Apologies for not being clear. I was sleepy myself The touch function has returned and it has the driver which Pete found to be working in his blog. Although the orientation is still not a 100% screen doesn't rotate when the device is turned to portrait and when you open any program randomly it decides to turn!! when the UAC prompt shows up. The Bosch accelerometer is installed but I wasn't sure if that was sufficient to check orientation for the device. I don't know why but somehow I am not convinced that the drivers that are installed are all that right. For instance when I check with driver identifier it shows a whole lot of drivers that need an update. So when I update via device manager it sure finds the latest driver and installs it. In this case the Intel DPTF (5drivers) when you finish update and restart some other drivers don't respond like the Bosch sensor and one other driver. Other example is the GPIO controller updated via device manager stops the Audio, wifi and the screen resolution. If I am right it is just a matter of finding the right config of drivers. BTW which back up utility do you recommend for the device drivers and do they back up all version of the drivers installed or just the one the tablet/OS is using ATM?
I use doubledriver, and I'm Not really sure if You have multiple versions of a driver But I'm thinking it should copy all of them Then Again I'm running the 7.1.0.16 version DPTF drivers. Most of this is all above "Stupid Bat Level" and that's where I'm heading if I don't get out and go fishing soon It does look like it's a matter of finding the right combination of drivers and installing them in the right order, but what combo and what order Either You've got a hell of a lot of patience or a worse case of OCD than Me
Had this random orientation issue with my Tab3 lite at one point, however after playing around I found a checkbox in a submenu of the settings tab that enabled portrait/landscape full time, not just when ordered by an application. now I know it's useless to compare Android to Win, but Pete established which version of drivers gave him the best result, so having done that I think it's a matter of tweaking the controls whatever they are till you achieve satisfaction. I don't think updating the drivers beyond that which Pete found to work best is a useful endeavor. I think you're definitely on the right track, and so close. Backup as I said before I recommend is Norton ghost of the whole drive to an image, then you are assured that when you restore you are really back where you started. Wouldn't it be lovely to edit this thread title to RESOLVED ! ...T
Yes it would be lovely I am waiting for it just as much as you guys The limited touch still shows and about the orientation it doesn't recognise if the tablet is in landscape or portrait. By default it goes into landscape and I have to manually change it to vertical. I don't mind having to do that but where I cant stop is the touch screen calibration which is still up the creek. touch is recognised as a limited touch device with 5 point capacitive touch instead of full touch device.
That it does bat.1 That it does. everyone should reconsider the upgrade. Win 10 will gladly tell you that you are ready and compatibility is 100% and then it will be thrown out of the "window" followed by the device. I vaguely remember when I did the in place upgrade the touch showed a 10 point touch and that is when it started playing up. Oh BTW that AH guy turned out to be a Douche. First he says the pad is in a box. Then he says the device doesn't come with drivers LMAO so much for a tech review expert. Then he says it is all generic and mysteriously he doesn't have the pad anymore. funny how on youtube he had the pad and I had a different username and now ....... Still waiting on the rest to wake up to the notifications and get back to me.
Update: Touch screen still cant be calibrated. Tried different combinations of driver installation. The older touch driver will not work at all. Apparently the touch screen shouldn't require a calibration if the driver is installed right and should work from the get go.
Got to admire your tenacity I'd have given up long ago and trashed it From the problem reports I've been reading on other Sites you're getting a lot of company since M$ decided to change closing a popup to accepting the "upgrade".
I agree with Bat1 you're a glutton for punishment. Pete seemed to indicate that it was windows update that fouled things up in the first place. I'd be inclined to install old drivers and tweak them as best I could but never let WU run. I've got a little command file on this computer "net stop wuauserv" for whenever I see wu running it's like a noxious weed, gobbles all the ram and cpu cycles. ...T
if you open my "task manager" it will show you this "persistence module" which when selected doesn't have a end task button As for the upgrade popup it still shows in my sys tray. Worst case scenario if I have to use it with the keyboard and mouse attached I might as well use it on windows 10 without the effin touch
