What i meant was i didn't use any external programs for that.. just selected my default OS to be XP in the boot options... then the metro UI bootloader reverted back to its original form..now i don't have the Metro UI bootloader option.. thats the disadvantage.
i just meant the bootloader isn't in its metroUI form...i don't mind if my bootloader(alone) is in its traditional style other ways i use metro UI ..even i think its the next major step MS towards a new GUI experience .. but its success depends on the no.of users accepting that change.
Here a hopefully completed shortcut list for Metro on the WDP, there might be more to come in BETA/RTM but for now i couldnt find more than these (i added a few new shortcuts to the List found on a MSDN blog) Code: Windows key+COpens Charms Bar Windows key+IOpens Settings Charm Windows key+KOpens Connect Charm Windows key+HOpens Share Charm Windows key+QOpens Search pane Windows key+WOpens Settings Search app Windows key+FOpens File Search App Windows key+ZOpens App Bar Windows key+TabCycles through Metro Applications Windows key+Ctrl+TabCycles through Metro Applications in Snap Windows key+Shift+Ctrl+TabCycles through Metro Applications in Snap (Backwards) Windows key+.Moves the Snap view to the right Windows key+Shift+.Moves the Snap view to the left Windows key+SpacebarSwitch input language and keyboard layout Windows key+YTemporarily peek at the desktop Windows key+OLocks device orientation Windows key+VCycles through toasts Windows key+Shift+VCycles through toasts in reverse order Windows key+EnterLaunches Narrator HomeJumps to the first Tile EndJumps to the last Tile PgUpMoves Startscreen to the left PgDownMoves Startscreen to the right Ctrl+ScrollwheelSemantic Zoom Home/End requires you to either press Tab or Click into the Startscreen somewhere. You can't use the Snap feature on your Resolution? No problem. Code: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ImmersiveShell\AppPositioner] "AlwaysEnableLSSnapping"=dword:00000001 Restart Explorer and have fun. But even with this tweak you will not be able to enjoy the Snap feature as its disabled for a reason, the content will not fit your screen.
+1 I moved the Applications folder to my "classic" Start Menu folder and added it to the taskbar as a toolbar, very nice.
In order to run as admin create shortcut to METRO.cmd file and put shortcut in start menu under startup. Go into the shortcut's properties window and in the shortcut tab click advanced. Then click "Run As Administrator". Also you can remove the following line from the file to stop the task manager from opening: TM.exe >NUL
Yep, and It's kinda funky with the resolutions. If I manually edit shsx.dll I would replace the image with something 2000x1000, but that didn't come out good with this app, gonna try some different resolution images and see what happens.
Did you look at the pcitures? there is no "fade" effect, the strip isn't there at all. But the tool doesnt do that, so i don't know if they photoshopped the pics or found a way to get rid of em (i didnt care enough to even look into it how you might get rid of the strip, it scales)
