Great job! I like it, but is there any way to just show the background image, without the colored stripe in the middle?

 

Thats exactly what ppl already talk about, you need a Image thats Twice as high as your resolution.
But Windows will screw it up so you have to split the image into two sections so it will display proper.

i just ran your app, went to change start button and accidently hit apply without changing anything. now my start button is missing in "use small icons" option in taskbar properties. how do i restore the original start button?

The button does not Accept Alpha but... it's already Black and not brown o.o.

No, it is not the Classic Menu. I have replaced the Start logo with the one from Win7.
Perhaps I can make some modification to the win7 files.

 

Then i already answered your question.

 

Rename twuin.dll.bak to twinui.dll and/or shsxs.dll.bak to shsxs.dll
