This "feature" doens't do what you thought it would do, it just resizes the image to 2000x1000 i think (im not sure if its resizing to that or your desktop res as i didnt use it yet) It's not cutting up your Wallpaper to work on your Resolution
ur welcome man, same for 1280x800, but the strip is smaller..... Auto log off working fine, thanks...great. Good we wait! Have a good night.... France time same as Italian....
Thanks, but I didn't realize ccleaner needed anything special to work on Win 8. Makes me wonder if they are just taking advantage of the hype? All the program options look identical to previous versions.
No but i heard CCleaner removed some "important" regsitry stuff that screwed over Win8 pretty much But if you look at it, these Registry Cleaners are not needed really If a Key exists under Shell for example but is empty, it will "waste" time on it by Queuing a sub value which doesnt exist, but when the Key doesnt exist in the first place this does not happen, so you will save 2 Queues and more per Key, this can be a speed improvement if you have thousands of these (when you actually have the scenario where all of them get read at the same time) But... CCleaner will remove unused file extensions, but they will never get read or slow you down until you actually click a file with the extension then explorer will Read the Key, before that it doesnt even exist for explorer, it's not wasting anything So as effect, it's Placebo and only makes your Registry be little "cleaner" but it won't give you any speed improvement There is probably some "tutorial" or something on the Internet that describes that in detail, why it's a waste of time (i don't know how XP handles it, as this os slowed extremly down once you installed a bunch of stuff) Edit: CCleaner is nice to get rid of Cache stuff etc, but you don't really have to use it on your Registry as this won't do anything good most of the time.
This is the first time I've tried it on WDP, but it seemed to work fine on older builds. I ran all the available options and it seems that no harm was done. Good stuff, been using ccleaner since back in the day when it was called Crap Cleaner. Now if the dudes that make Spybot S&D would just stop over-complicating things I'd be really happy. They just keep adding more crap on top of crap with every beta version, I've tried. I still love v 1.62 though.
Why do you think I posted it in the first place? - To have the geeks test it so that I (being a noob) can try it later LOL. btw, now they start charging money.
Shenj is right. Reason CC's reg clean is so popular cos it just does some totally futile things like removing unused extensions and claims it cleaned up the registry. Other reg cleaners are far more aggressive so they remove far more stuff but also mess up more. Plus as Russinovich said somewhere to really clean up, a reg cleaner would need a complete database of all the reg changes an app install makes which is all but impossible.
