I don't understand why to flash an untested biosmod instead an already confirmed working biosmod ....

I check ALWAYS if a biosmod has been done before, I think you could do the same ....

Keep in mind that this has nothing to do with the respect I have for you

I have the utmost respect for you and all other forum's users.

That which worked successfully on one machine, does not always work for another, and sometimes leads to a brick. I came across this several times. I was also tested mod 09/09/2011. I posted it. Probably it will work.

Flashed (no brick this time), but still no activation. Re-applied the cert and key, but still no good.

What's the basic issue here... it a part of the BIOS that's not flashing or is it missing certain key data?

I also have a similar laptop sitting here that I could dump the BIOS from (would using that info from that BIOS help?)... it's a different BIOS though, but same family of laptops.

Before I forget to say it again... thank you for all the help and time with this. It's appreciated.

Oh, and before we lost all the data on this BIOS chip... I did originally provide a RW report... would that help? I just couldn't find my old post.

Tried.... pc acting "strange". Basically it flashed, restarted then gave some odd beep codes then self restarted twice... so I placed the previous USB crisis stick back in and now it appears to be self re-flashing (didn't have to hold any keyboard keys)... will report what it's like after Windows comes back up, but I assume it's not going to work.

EDIT, still no activation... I'm assuming because it reflashed the previous BIOS again.

Seems to be a tough nut to crack... I wonder why.

I wonder... would it change anything to try and mod with Asus (or other) info instead??
