    I just did what you wrote above and it still keeps saying this bios is not for your notebook PC. I have the correct Model number and the correct Bios. It would not flash from dos either with ph161700. Same error message.

    I have even tried to flash the official Bios as I'm still on the original that came with the laptop F28. Tried every bios listed from the HP website for this model.

    The laptop came with Vista x64 but I have already installed Windows 7 x64 and that should not really matter here?
