So I'm still having a hard time trying to flash my bios. Not sure if i am somehow missing a step or what but here is what I did. 1. Using HP USB disk I formated a USB drive using internal MS-DOS system files 2. Unrar'ed the contents of NoJuan999's modified bios link onto the USB drive(only 2 files- 7b1d1p19.bin and dell~1.xrm) 3. booted from USB and the 3 files in the directory are the 2 mentioned and command.com none of which will let me load any kind of new bios. that is where I am stuck at the moment and not sure where i need to change what im doing. Thanks for anyone who is willing to help.
Thanks Tito on a side question, how long does it take for the bios to rewrite, i typed in the new file name and saved the last one, but it has been on the same screen now for about 5minutes, with the bottom part where it asks for your approval y/n answer just saying "Message:" locked screen looks like this AwardBIOS Flash Utility V8.94 (C)Phoenix Technologies Ltd. All Rights Reserved ---------------------------------------------- For 1.0.3-6A79O009C-00 Date:06/20/2008 Flash Type - File Name to Program : 7b1d1p19.bin Save current BIOS as : old.bin ----------------------------------------------- Message: Restarted it and it apparently never started, its doing the same thing where it gets stuck at step 4 4. After saving the BIOS it will confirm if you want to continue with the overwrite. Type "Y" for yes and it will begin the write process. Any idea why it would get stuck here?
Hi Ipmark, I have an Acer Aspire 4741G notebook with BIOS version 1.31. As mentioned that the new BIOS has the SLIC table 2.1, I would appreciate it if you could send its certificate file and OEM key file for Windows 7 ultimate or a download link where I can retrieve the file. Thanks, xingalaxy
Thank you! Reading right now... A bit confusing... No one has tried a G7 Proliant mod yet... Cheers, Anton
Could someone please mod this BIOS to SLIC 2.1? I found a link in the Dell thread but the link to the modded BIOS is dead Dell Inspiron 1420 laptop Link to unmodded BIOS: w.w.w.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails/DriverFileFormats?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&DriverId=R206901 Thank you so much!
