The bios that is on the PC is 5.14. I have not changed it. The bios that is on the HP website is 5.13. It is also for a different board. I googled to get the 5.14 bios for the link that is requested. I just downloaded the bios I pointed to. It is a winflash bios. I am wondering if someone flashed it with an incorrect update at one time. I was just given this computer recently.
Make a bios backup (via awardflash utility) and modify it (use ISA method) \check with Slictoolkit what HP 2.1 slic needed for this one (CPC, MPC,... \
dear Serg008, thanks for your replay, I tried the file and it flashed my bios, however once I log in the Bios page, the bios version is updated to 10LM, yet the MICOM version is still at 08LM which was there before the update. So what exactly is MICOM,? and I also find out that the moded file does'nt include the KBC.bin file, is that the reason why the MICOM wasn't updated? Just a guess, Thanks for your support. If I d like to learn mod BIOS myself, Do you recommend read books on it if there is any? or just read those sticky topic. Thank you again.
I think I have figured out what you were referring to. I used Slictoolkit and found that I needed HPQOEMSLIC-CPC. I then loaded Award Slic Mod v1.37. I loaded the backup of the original bios, selected HP as manufacturer, Slic File I used HPQOEMSLIC-CPC-MSFT.bin, SLP file I used HP.txt. When I got to Certificates my options were HPQOEMSLIC-MPC.xrm-ms, HP.XRM-MS,HP_2.1.XRM-MS or HP-7E1BE628.XRM-MS. I tried each one of them and selected ISA Method and "Go". They all came up with a status of SUCCESS except HP-7E1BE628.XRM-MS. I ran verify and all came up with the same last 2 messages in the log, Extra checksum invalid or not present & BIOS image does not sum to 0. Which cert should I use that is if I am on the right track?
